Collect Data Verify Data Input Data Complete Reports

• Practice good data validation techniques. Strive for accuracy, reliability, and timeliness. Record the date when you gather data from your SMS. Follow standard procedures for handling confidential data.

• Go to the source. Obtain data from the source “closest” to the information

(i.e., ask program instructors for student enrollments).

• Ask questions. Do all course sections appear on my report? Are they

accurate? Are all instructors identified and listed? Are my students receiving the correct segments?
