DESCRIPTION OF CULTURAL RESOURCE INVESTIGATIONS IN NEW YORK

The document describing cultural resource investigations in New York State is the"Cultural Resource Standards Handbook" prepared by the New York ArchaeologicalCouncil Standards Committee (2000). It provides guidance for understanding andapplying the State's standards for cultural resource investigation. The handbook may beviewed at: http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/arccrsp_nyachb.html . A paper copy of thehandbook is maintained in the NRCS State Office.
