Coming close of the heels of 2015, this amazing mega yacht has been launched on December 4th at Livorno as a co-creation between two monsters of yachting manufacture and design: Benetti and Sinot Design Studio.

The best of the expertise of Benetti’s group has been printed on every inch of Formosa, which is 60 meters long, cruises at 15 knots or at 12 knots when saving fuel, but able to get to 16 knots as maximum speed, impelled by its MTU 12V4000 M53 engines.

Spotless, these two glamorous princesses have offered these days an astounding view, both hovering in the cold water of Lürssen shipyards in Bremen. Quantum Blue, officially launched on July 25th 2014 and recently delivered to her owners, could be gracefully seen these days next to her sister Pelorus at Lürssen shipyards in Bremen. Like a young lady sprucing herself up before a reception, this gorgeous and young piece of art is getting ready for her first voyage. Nauta Design is very proud to announce, almost one year from her delivery in Octobre 22nd 2013, that AZZAM has recently left the Lürssen facilities in Bremen for her maiden voyage. This is truly an emotive moment for Nauta and everybody else involved at the construction and development of this amazing vessel. Luckily, everything has gone according to plan, despite the exigent design and production schedule Lürssen was able to succeed in delivering even one month earlier that stipulated. Azzam has been a real challenge as a new project.


The 51 metre motor yacht from Heesen Yachts, was delivered last November to his owners after a long trial period in the North Sea. The St.Barth’s & Newport Bucket Regatta will now be in new hands. Recently, Perini Navi, Royal Huisman, Vitters and Rybovich announced their stewardship of this renowned sailing event. The St.Barth’s & Newport Bucket Regatta started in 1986 with only seven competing yachts, but it has managed to grow over the years until becoming one of the cardinals superyacht sailing event’s worldwide. After three years of intense designing and building, Feadship announced the launch of Savannah, an 83.5-meter vessel noted as the world’s first hybrid superyacht. The motor yacht launched from Feadship’s yard in Aalsmeer, Netherlands. Savannah’s owner celebrated the event with a James Bond-themed festival in honor of the dedicated engineers, designers, and craftsmen who dedicated years of their lives to the special yacht. Feadship created Savannah to compete with some of the world’s most eco-friendly yachts.

Feadship’s team also poured years of work into making Savannah an extremely attractive superyacht. The designers used stainless steel, teak wood, and aluminum supports to create the illusion that Savannah’s superstructure floats above the water.

NOBODY DOES SEMI-CUSTOM QUITE LIKE BENETTI. Since the late ’90s, when the first Classic 115 showed that you could have your own personalized superyacht without having to wait three years for it, the Viareggio shipyard has been kept busy building innovative, conservatively styled, displace-ment fiberglass motoryachts in an ever-increasing range of sizes.

The latest development of the Tradition line, embodied in the 108-foot (32.9-meter) Tradition Supreme, has a distinctive profile, with a carbon-fiber radar arch and hardtop, and a fully extended sundeck, which not only adds relaxation space but also shelters the upper deck more effectively than on the 100 and 105 Tradition designs.

The first 108 was built for an experienced owner. His previous yacht was a Benetti—a 100-foot (30.4-meter) Tradition built in 2006—but he can trace his boat ownership back to his childhood on the beautiful lakes of Lombardy in northern Italy. He knows exactly how his new charge will be used.

“The yacht will be based in Italy and southern France, the places we know the best and love the most—really some of the most beautiful places on earth,” he said. “We are very attached to the Italian islands. We have been visiting them for many years now.”

Unusually, he is also an owner-captain. The family does hire crew, but not a full complement, preferring to take on most tasks themselves, and Benetti has customized the yacht according to many of their indi-vidual ideas and requirements. There is a Turkish bath on the upper deck, for example. And with no formal dining table on the main deck, making the salon feel vast, most meals will be taken while enjoying the views from the upper salon, served from the galley below by dumbwaiter.

While the Tradition’s exterior styling comes unmistakably from the pen of Stefano Righini, the interior of this first 108 was designed by the shipyard studio under the owner’s direction. She’s been fitted out with

attractive mosaic tiling in the showers contrasting with pale striped mar-ble, for example, and heavily grained, limed oak used on the bulkheads offset by areas of darker veneers and brightened by a multitude of color-ful fabrics. Cutaway bulwarks match the main-deck window shapes, and maximize both daylight and spectacular views in the salon and owner’s suite. Longitudinal overhead lighting is found throughout the main deck.

Apart from the owner’s changes to the salon, the yacht is built according to Benetti’s standard layout with four ensuite guest cabins down below, in addition to the owner’s suite on the main deck and six crew berths in three cabins forward. The full sections of a displacement hull help to give the interior spaces pleasingly comfortable proportions, along with plenty of useful stowage in the sleeping areas, full-size beds and a minimum of 6-foot-4-inch headroom everywhere. Displacement yachts are also less subject to the tyranny of weight than their faster counterparts, and the 108’s interior fit-out has a reassuring solidity.

The owner’s customized interior décor fades into insignificance com-pared with what he asked the shipyard to do in the engineroom. Benetti describes this first 108 as a hybrid, although not in the sense that she has vast battery capacity and a zero-emissions mode. This is a traditional displacement yacht with a traditional twin-diesel power plant, supple-mented by—you guessed it—a “traditional” diesel-electric propulsion system: two electric motors powered by two diesel generators.

With her slippery, round-bilge underwater shape, the Benetti 108 would be well-suited to diesel-electric as her sole propulsion system, but the advantages of fitting both diesel and diesel-electric are not immediately obvious. It sounds complicated and expensive, and it is. This is a yacht with four diesel engines and two electric motors, plus gearboxes capable of dealing with both power sources. The big 80-kilowatt generators fitted are run by modern 4.5-liter John Deere engines, and with both of those powered up and both 35-kilowatt electric motors engaged, we recorded a maximum speed of 5.5 knots while burning about 10½ gallons per hour.

You could probably do better than that by reducing the demand on the generators—we had stabilizers, TV, a/c and lights on—but it’s a “real world” idea of the 108’s electric performance.

The real advantage of the diesel-electric system is its quietness, although even under conventional power, the 108 proved to be a surpris-ingly silent operator. At full speed on the main engines we could not only hear the air conditioning in the wheelhouse, but also, surprisingly, the soft hum of a battery charger in one of the lockers. Having switched those off, we recorded a remarkably low 58 decibels in the wheelhouse, which is lower than normal conversation levels. But then we switched the main engines off and transferred to electric power. The sound meter’s needle dropped to a barely registrable 47 decibels. My laptop is louder than that. While on a walk-through of all the accommodation areas, on both the main and lower decks, the needle never flicked above 50 decibels.

It’s quite extraordinary, but it’s exactly the effect the owner wanted and expected.

“Hybrid propulsion allows for completely silent sailing whenever there’s the need to travel without haste—lengthy deliveries, relaxed coastwise cruising where you want to enjoy the panorama, night-time sailing,” he explained.

Using the yacht in electric mode, particularly at night under the stars, promises the sort of unforgettable passagemaking experience hith-erto only possible on a sailboat whispering along on a zephyr of breeze.

The owner’s family had a relaxed first cruise on their new yacht before the fall boat shows, breaking her in gently.

“We spent our first season relaxing in Sardinia, without stressing the yacht,” the owner explained, before turning his thoughts to the future. It seems they’ll go east next summer and head for the classic cruising grounds of Greece and Turkey. After that, things look set to get even more adventurous with some challenging passagemaking on the agenda, all the way up to northern Europe.

“Let’s hope that our dreams can soon become reality,” he said, before admitting ruefully, “We have to work, too.”

Benetti Veloce 140

Il primo yacht della gamma Benetti Class Fast Displacement, Veloce 140, è stato presentato in anteprimamondiale al Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.Lo Studio Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture e il centro di Ricerca e Sviluppo del gruppo Azimut|Benetti hannostudiato un nuovo scafo D2P (displacement to planing), che portano lo yacht ad alte performance, ma si ha lapossibilità di agevoli andature dislocanti: Veloce 140, infatti, ha una velocità di crociera di 12 nodi, con unconsumo ridotto, ma si può viaggiare anche a velocità oltre i 20 nodi con il massimo confort di bordo.

Il cantiere toscano ha costruito il primo scafo per un Armatore, già cliente suo cliente, che si caratterizza per lapersonalizzazione degli spazi interni.L'Exterior Styling & Concept è a cura di Stefano Righini, il design interno è stato sviluppato dallo studio ingleseRWD-Redman Whiteley Dixon in collaborazione con il designer dell'Armatore, mentre il decor è dell'architettointernazionale Joao Armentano.Il Sun Deck è una grande terrazza sul mare con una piscina in posizione centrale che fronteggia la zona living. L'Upper Deck non ha il mobilio fisso, ma tutto può essere spostato per ottenere un'ampia zona disco all'aperto. A poppa c'è il grande tavolo da pranzo con sedici posti a sedere. Qui è posta anche la zona relax da cui,attraverso una porta elettrica che si richiude a pacchetto laterale, si accede allo sky-lounge interno.La seconda piscina, molto profonda, è a prua. Di fronte, due grandi prendisole e una zona living con divano e tavolino, dove si può godere di un'assolutaprivacy. Su questo ponte l'Armatore ha richiesto, in quella che doveva essere la cabina del comandante, un locale notteVip. Nel Main Deck, in posizione prodiera, c'è la grande palestra con Tecno-Gym della linea Personal. A poppa una zona pranzo per dodici persone.Entrando a bordo si notano subito i legni Tay tinto grigio chiaro e il Tabu grigio ardesia per i pavimenti. Glielementi decorativi sono laccati silver, mentre i cielini in laccati bianco ed alcantara.Gli arredi interni sono firmati Minotti, le lampade Flos e le rubinetterie Gessi.La zona notte ha cinque cabine: due matrimoniali, due per gli ospiti con letti separati e letti pullman e quelladell'Armatore. Ad estrema prua le quattro cabine per le otto persone dell'equipaggio.Veloce 140 si caratterizza per il forte stile che contraddistingue design e arredi, ma soprattutto per i due motoriMTU 12V4000 M93L da 3.500 mHp, che sono i propulsori più grandi mai montati dal Cantiere. Lo yacht è dotato diun sistema di pinne stabilizzatrici elettriche della CMC Marine.Il garage può ospitare fino a due tender.

Benetti Yachts has been one of the survivors through the worst period in yachting history but not only have they survived, they have flourished.

Hillary Buckman spoke with Vincenzo Poerio CEO of Benetti Yachts about his passion for the ocean and how he has managed to keep the brand way above waterline.

The Benetti yard in Viareggio has been extended to accommodate growth and changing technology.

When did your love of the ocean begin?I was born in one of the most beautiful Italian cities that overlooks a wonderful bay on the Tyrrhenian Sea: Naples. I have always loved the sea and it has always provided a feeling of freedom.

My father was a merchant with a passion for wine. Although he passed me his passion – indeed I produce my wine on my farm near Siena – my interest and curiosity for the sea andengineering were stronger. I studied at the University of Naples to become an engineer. Before joining Benetti, I worked as a researcher in Genoa and for some naval shipyards.

You started with Benetti Yachts in 1994. What was your career path through the company ranks?The first years I was in Benetti there was a lot of building to do, details to take care of. Now we have to maintain what we have achieved and grow based on our strengths.

This company is in the game for the long run and as we have done in the past, we continue to invest in improving the quality and the innovation of our products.

There are the differences that underlie the world of yachting today. Yachts are not getting bigger only because technology is allowing them to; it is the market that is different, the economy istoo.

Today’s client for a custom superyacht has consolidated his wealth and is standing on a solid base. He or she usually comes from a country that has a mature and stable economy. The typicalBenetti custom client does not come to us to buy a ready-made yacht, they come to construct one together with us.

They are not interested in showing off, they want to express their tastes and live a genuine rapport with the sea. These clients are successful people who have achieved much in life. Theycome to us with ideas and expectations that are a challenge and stimulus. When we meet, they give us a briefing, making no concessions to compromise, and their success becomes ours.Quality is our only route to that success.

You have been working at Benetti for over 20 years. What are some of the main changes you have seen in this time within the yard and designs?Let’s put it this way: yachting is where 75 other industrial sectors intersect: Electronics, mechanics, building materials and even paints.

The materials that go into building a yacht change and improve constantly. We have to be flexible and adaptable to stay abreast of change. It would be so easy if we could just create oneproduct that works then sit back and do the same thing the same way always. However, in Benetti that is never going to happen.

With 320 Yachts built since 1960 we gain experiences in the construction process and we continue researching, enhancing, empowering and building every Yachts.

The 55-metre Ocean Paradise was custom built in 2013.

Can you tell us what is currently in build at Benetti?We have under construction 15 custom and 24 Class. We can reveal that, after the advanced state of construction of the first 90-metre and the double sale of two megayachts over 100-metres, we are now entering in the ‘Giga yacht’ market segment.

With two 100-metre plus yachts in build, how will this change the structure and growth plans for the company?Benetti faces the new challenge by investing into new operation structures and building two new outfitting hangars accommodating yachts up to 140-metres.

Obviously, at the same time, we also need to raise the skills and knowledge, and we are planning to do that by focusing on specific training for the teams dedicated to these lines. This willallow us to strengthen our position in the gigayacht market where there are as yet, very few players.

Are there any plans for a yard in the Asian region?We have no plans to open a yard there, we aim to maintain the production in Italy.

We opened an office in Hong Kong, run by our new General Manager, Luigi Adamo and the support of a marketing person.

We are investing in technical services and yacht management, to guarantee our clients 360 days of support.

Benetti now has a few Australian owners, and currently the largest Benetti in build is for an Australian client. What are Benetti’s plans to attract more Australians to the brand?We like to be very discreet about our clients. We cannot tell you all our strategies because people will read this article – I am joking! We would like to be present in the country organising VIPevents and partnerships during some of the very special Australian events.

We have close working relationships with our local agent, Geoff Lovett, who represents us in the local market.

How does the Australian client differ from European/American’s clients?The Australian clients are very similar to Europeans even if they have a more developed practical sense. They appreciate luxury and love in detail and we Italians, we appreciate theirtransparency and direct way to communicate.

How important is this Asia/Pacific region to the Benetti brand?It is very important to us, in fact we invest a specific marketing budget for that region. We have close working relationships with our local agent, Geoff Lovett. We have several agreements inAsia with a network of agents who support us, aiming to expand more and more our sales network, showing new products on the market. This is the basis to creating new negotiations.

You personally have taken an interest in the Chinese market. How important has it been to learn their culture and their boating needs?At the beginning, it wasn't an easy market because Chinese weren't so interested in our product because their culture is not seamanship. But with the new young generation the market haschanged.

Despite this, they have an ancient culture and we want to respect it, designing yachts according to the “Dragon Fly” which reflect their standard of living and the utilisation of the yacht like ahouse. In any case, the primary utilisation of a yacht for Chinese people is for business.

Has the Asian region been a difficult area to promote to?It wasn’t easy especially considering the cultural differences but, at the end of 2011 when we decided to have a dedicated Area Manager for Asia, that was in direct contact with clients andculture it began to be a little more simple. It still a very particular market. The Asian area is difficult in general because there are many different countries: Malaysia, India, Australia, SouthKorea, making the market complex. Our intention is to gradually penetrate all those markets.

How is Benetti tailoring its marketing approach and product range to appeal to the Chinese/Asian market?We are trying to get as close as possible to their tastes and cultural uses being supported in our Hong Kong office also from a marketing assistant from China. Our products reflect the technicaland technological characteristics for the whole world. We try to customise based on the logistics that are different in each area for the style and for the different use of the product.

With all the boat shows you attend around the world, what is your favorite and why?Monaco boat show allows you to show the best of boats over 40-metres. In addition, Americans Boat Show (Fort Lauderdale and Miami) are important from an international standpoint. Wehope that soon Asia will have an international boat show since today there are many local shows for small boats.

I know it's a hard question, but what is your favorite Bennetti built to date?Probably in the future will be the one that I will build for myself after accumulating so many years of experience in constructions. I will be for sure the worst client for my team!

Do you own a yacht and if so, what is it?As I told you, I’m dreaming of one day owning my own yacht. Today I enjoy the occasional use of ours.

Benetti, part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Luigi Adamo as General Manager of Benetti Asia. His task will be to directly manage and coordinate sales,marketing and customer satisfaction to further reinforce the Group's presence in the Asian market.

Born in 1978, Luigi Adamo later earned his degree in naval engineering. With his certificate as project manager Adamo's experience in the yachting world began in 1994. At Benetti he coveredthe important roles of Service Manager and Sales Area Manager. Excellent results made him a key figure in several of the company's strategic markets.

Benetti was the first yachtbuilder to realise the potential of composite materials insuperyacht production, and switched, back in the 1960s, from metal to the steel andaluminium used today. Benetti has over 300,000sq m of production facilities at six boatyards in Italy, but itsheadquarters have been in Viareggio since 1873. The Darsena Lucca and Darsena Italiaproduction facilities are equipped with the latest technology for building Class Rangeyachts in the 93-145ft range. Darsena Italia, which has a dry dock and a helipad, canproducefour 35 to 70 metre yachts concurrently, while Darsena Lucca can build three 42-metreyachts at the same time. A third, more recent facility increases production capacity bysix more yachts.The Livorno boatyard, purchased in 2004, extends to 200,000sq m. Inherited from theCantiere Orlando, it has been converted by Benetti into a modern production facilitywhere 14 custom steel and aluminium superyachts can be built at the same time. Thisboatyard also offers superyacht repair services, with a private dock that canaccommodate boats of up to 80 metres. As the Mediterranean’s largest and mostup-to-date refit centre, it is set to play a key role in pleasure craft development in Italyand Europe.

The Fano boatyard, situated in the Le Marche region of Italy, joined Benetti in July2002, following a merger with Cantieri Moschini (of which Benetti had been themajority shareholder since 1988). This 34,000sq m production facility, of which12,000sq m is under cover, is today regarded as an international centre of excellence inthe moulding and lamination of yachts built from composite materials, and employs ahighly specialist workforce.

Bizarrement identifié dans la catégorie des "petits megayachts", le Benedetti Tradit ion SupremeBenedetti Tradit ion Supreme108108 a la particularité inédite d'avoir 3 ponts, chose rarissime sur un bateau de "seulement" 32 mètresde long. La version "My Paradis""My Paradis" se pare donc d'intérieurs boisés du plus bel effet, donnant un côtécosy et chaleureux. Petite cerise sur le gâteau, la version en images ci-dessous, disposera d'un sauna.

Born in 1978, Adamo has a degree in naval engineering and certificate as project manager. His career in theyachting world began in 1994. At Benetti, he covered the important roles of Service Manager and Sales AreaManager. Excellent results made him a key figure in several of the company's strategic markets.

Benetti, parte del Gruppo Azimut|Benetti, è lieta di annunciare la nomina di Luigi Adamo a General Manager Asia, con l’incarico di gestire e coordinaredirettamente i processi di vendita, marketing e soddisfazione del cliente del territorio al fine di rafforzare ulteriormente la presenza sul mercato asiatico.

Luigi Adamo, classe 1978, laurea in ingegneria navale, una licenza da project manager vanta un’importante esperienza nel mondo dello yachting iniziatanel 1994. All’interno di Benetti ha assunto negli anni ruoli importanti di Service Manager e Sales area manager con ottimi risultati che lo hanno reso unuomo chiave in alcuni dei mercati strategici dell’Azienda.

Luigi Adamo, classe 1978, laurea in ingegneria navale, una licenza da project managervanta un’importante esperienza nel mondo dello yachting iniziata nel 1994. All’interno diBenetti ha assunto negli anni ruoli importanti di Service Manager e Sales area managercon ottimi risultati che lo hanno reso un uomo chiave in alcuni dei mercati strategicidell’Azienda.

Born in 1978, Luigi Adamo later earned his degree in navalengineering. With his certificate as project manager Adamo‘s experience in the yachting world began in1994. At Benetti he covered the important roles of Service Manager and Sales Area Manager. Excellentresults made him a key figure in several of the company’s strategic markets. “From my family I inheritedan awareness, that important objectives are achieved through lengthy and stable relationships.” LuigiAdamo continues: “Loyalty towards your company is a fundamental factor in creating a solidrelationship; it also makes you a recognizable figure in the industry. Consistence is synonymous withhaving an assiduous relationship with your owners and their representatives.

Our first goal therefore will be to carefully work with our area brokers, increasing their knowledge of ourproducts, and participating in our day to day life at Azimut Benetti.”

Megayacht News Onboard: Benetti’s Illusion VJANUARY 9, 2015 BY DIANE M. BYRNE

Yacht builders like to up the ante on their competition. So, too, do some yacht buyers. But upping the ante on yourself?

The owners of Illusion V have done just that. Experienced cruisers who have previously owned finely detailed

megayachts, they commissioned Illusion V to be even grander in many ways.

The owners previously cruised aboard another Benetti, christened Illusion (now known as Wild Orchid). Delivered in

2010, she measures 149’6” (45.6 meters). According to the captain of Illusion V, with a new baby on the way, the

owners decided a bigger boat better suited their lifestyle.

Launched as Illusion I and renamed Illusion V a few months later, this 188’6” (57.5-meter) megayacht bears a 35-foot

(10.8-meter) beam. Green & Mingarelli Design ensured that the owners’ guests as well as charter guests would

experience an atmosphere of opulence even from the exterior decks.

High-gloss black walnut strikes a strong contrast against tones of white and cream infused in silks, parchment,

travertine marble, and abundant Lalique crystal, the latter in the form of sculptures, furniture insets, and lamps. The

decor theme that’s most noticeable aboard Illusion V, though, is the rose motif seen here. It’s repeated on the front of

bars (in Lalique crystal), in pillows, in the carpeting, on headboards, and in stone in the main foyer. (Surely, no red

wine will be consumed inside Illusion V.)

Large seating and relaxation areas invite guests to spend time together in the saloon, as elsewhere. Note, too, the bar

just visible forward of the seating area. Deep windows to each side make the area extra light and bright.

Alfresco dining is the order of the day aboard many a megayacht. Illusion V makes it easy for large parties to enjoy

still-intimate dinners just aft of the skylounge. The same area is ideal for Sunday brunch or big family breakfasts. A

dumbwaiter makes the job of the crew (13 in total) easier in that respect.

The sundeck makes outdoor dining even more attractive. Guests can escape the heat of the day here yet still enjoy cool

breezes. They can head straight back to the sunpads or the hot tub when they’re finished, too. No need to head below

decks at any point for a drink: A bar is conveniently located out by the hot tub, too.

What megayacht would be complete without a beach club? Illusion V has a fold-down transom like many projects these

days. A stowable dining table can be set up here. (Unfortunately for the crew, the dumbwaiter doesn’t come down to

this level, though a service elevator does.) The same platform allows guests to board one of the best collections of

watertoys around. To wit: snuba and scuba gear, fishing gear, inflatable toys, PWCs, and a Jetovator and Flyboard. (A

Jetovator is a hydro-powered flying seat, akin to the water-powered jetpacks but with a hose attached to a PWC. A

Flyboard employs a wakeboard attached to the firehose-like thruster. Both are increasingly popular, for good reason.)

Of course, even sun-chasing charter yachts can’t guarantee sunny skies every day. The private cinema aboard Illusion V

makes for a good cloudy-day escape. It can double as a seventh stateroom if needed.

From the intricately detailed decor to the attention to sound and vibration attenuation, the owners lavished attention

on Illusion V. Charter guests will get to experience it during her inaugural season in the Caribbean this winter, where

she’s available for $350,000 per week.

Benetti, part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, is pleased toannounce the appointment of Luigi Adamo as GeneralManager of Benetti Asia. His task will be to directlymanage and coordinate sales, marketing and customersatisfaction to further reinforce the Group’s presence inthe Asian market.

Konstruisana i predstavljena ranije ove godine, Illusion V superjahta du!ine 50 metara delo je BenettiLivorno brodogradili"ta…

Ova jahta koja ima !etiri palube, napravljena je od !elika i aluminijuma, a predstavlja elemente dizajnakoji su delo Green & Mignarelli studija. Prostrana glavna paluba na kojoj se nalazi kokpit i prefinjeniglavni salon su neki od najboljih elemenata ove jahte. Na njoj mo"e biti sme#teno 12 gostiju uelegantnim i veoma dobro opremljenim, udobnim sobama. Najimpresivnija od njih je svakako VIPkabina, koja se nalazi na sredi#njem delu jahte na donjoj palubi, i zauzima oko 11 metara. Tako$e,dostupne su i tri luksuzne twin kabine i jedan prefinjeni double apartman.

%to se ti!e eksterijera, najprimamljiviji deo je verovatno prostrani deo za sun!anje, sa velikim barom zazabavu i opu#tanje. Ukoliko je potrebno organizovati neki formalni doga$aj tokom boravka na ovoj jahti,postoji i formalna trpezarija u kojoj ima dovoljno mesta za 14 osoba za stolom, a tu je i mobilni bar kojise nalazi van otvorene gornje palube. Jo# jedna paluba za sun!anje sme#tena je na pramcu.

Ova jahta ina!e ima svog vlasnika i u pitanju je Evropljanin, koji kako saznajemo planira da je koristiprivatno, ali i da je iznajmljuje ukoliko bude potrebno.

GENERAL MANAGER OF BENETTI ASIA

Benetti, part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of LuigiAdamo as General Manager of Benetti Asia. His task will be to directly manage and coordinatesales, marketing and customer satisfaction to further reinforce the Group's presence in the Asianmarket.

Born in 1978, Luigi Adamo later earned his degree in naval engineering. With his certificate asproject manager Adamo's experience in the yachting world began in 1994. At Benetti he coveredthe important roles of Service Manager and Sales Area Manager. Excellent results made him akey figure in several of the company's strategic markets. “From my family I inherited anawareness, that important objectives are achieved through lengthy and stablerelationships.” Luigi Adamo continues: “Loyalty towards your company is a fundamental factor increating a solid relationship; it also makes you a recognizable figure in the industry. Consistenceis synonymous with having an assiduous relationship with your owners and their representatives.

Our first goal therefore will be to carefully work with our area brokers, increasing theirknowledge of our products, and participating in our day to day life at Azimut Benetti.”

THREE DAYS OF WORKSHOPS FOR SUPER AND MEGA YACHT CAPTAINSAT SATURNIA FROM FEBRUARY 4th – 6th, 2015

The popular annual event for Azimut Benetti superyachts Captains and Industryprofessionals celebrates 15 years of success and is now the central element of the new “Year-long Yachtmaster”project, which will keep this community in constant communication before and after the event, also through workshops and training sessions on professionally relevant topics.

The Azimut|Benetti Group has always been attentive to the needs and skills of those who participate to the success of their vessels during all phases of the project life-cycle (from negotiation tobuild and delivery but primarily during the Owner’s enjoyment) and their contribution to maintaining the brand’s worldwide reputation for excellence. With this in mind, 15 years ago the firstAzimut|Benetti YachtMaster was held. This year’s edition will take place in Tuscany at the Spa Boutique Terme Saturnia, from February 4th – 6th. The enchanting Spa Boutique Terme Saturnia,will play host to 150 participants, with intensive workshops and conferences on the many challenges that super-yacht management poses.

Two important additions to the 2015 event will make it even more interesting and stimulating:

The Captains’ Perspective – Several captains will be the protagonists of real-time interviews. Here they will go through their experiences during all project phases: negotiations, construction,cruising, etc. They will interact with the audience and all participants can exchange their experiences.

Professional Workshops – Participants will be divided into six sections with about 15 members each. Every class will further their knowledge of a captain’s duties with topics chosen by theparticipants before the event by means of polls taken on event-specific social network pages and other communication channels. The participants themselves therefore choose the topics of theirworkshops. Each section will be lead by a professional moderator.As always, during the 2015 Azimut/Benetti Yachtmaster the workshops will be accompanied by social events and team building activities.

Born in 1978, Luigi Adamo later earned his degree in naval engineering. With hiscertificate as project manager Adamo's experience in the yachting world began in 1994.At Benetti he covered the roles of service manager and sales area manager. Benetti, one the the world’s most productive and respected super yacht builders have confirmed they will be

exhibiting at The London Yacht, Jet & Prestige Car Show, joining other major Italian yards CRN, Azimut, Ferretti,

Riva, Sanlorenzo & Fincantieri at the event.

The latest yacht to be launched from the Benetti yards is the 60m FB255 M/Y Formosa, sold in 2012 by Fraser

Yachts, and launched on schedule on the 4th of December at Livorno.

This steel and aluminium super yacht, whose exterior styling and lines were all drawn in house at Benetti, has

five decks, a beam of 10.6 meters and a total volume of 1,060 gross tons. The interior layout and design of the

guest's area were created by the Sinot Design Studio, in close collaboration with the owner. The layout is

articulated in five suites for up to ten guests and sets aside one whole deck for the owner's apartments. The

captain plus a crew of 14 is available to see to all the guest's needs.

M/Y Formosa FB255 is powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines, developing 1,380 kwh at 1,800 rpm, the

FB255 has a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. At the fuel saving speed of 12

knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.

Italian shipbuilding and boat building company Benetti(http://www.benettiyachts.it/), successfully launched its 60 metre FB255

superyacht Formosa, that had been sold in 2012 by Fraser Yachts to an Asian client. Fraser’s Jan-Jaap Minnema reported that the

Letter of Intent for the new order was signed the day after the Hainan boat show. “We modified and re-written the technical specs,

substantially changed the General Arrangements, decided the interior styling and negotiated the contract. This all in just over 30 days.

It is typical for the Asian style of business: extremely efficient and fast!”

The five-deck, steel-hull yacht has 10.6-metre beam and an ample 1,060GT volume. Her layout includes a private owner’s deck, and

Formosa accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms, looked after by 15 crew members. Exterior design and naval architecture is by

Benetti’s in-house team, while the interior layout and design of the guest’s area were created by the Sinot Design Studio, in close

The super yacht Formosa is powered by twin MTU 12V 4000 M53 engines, and promises to cruise at 15 knots, and with a 130,000-

litre fuel capacity, she has a range of 5,000 nautical miles at an economical cruise speed.

The Azimut Benetti Group will celebrate a landmark occasion in February when it stages the 15th edition of its YachtMaster event. Thisyear's edition will take place in Tuscany at the Spa Boutique Terme Saturnia, from 4 to 6 of the month.

YachtMaster, which continues to act as a key platform for collaboration and correspondence between the group and its fleet of captains, willwelcome 150 participants to the 15th anniversary event.

This year, in addition to the raft of fun activities and fabulous meals, which serve as a ‘thank you’ to the captains for their continued faith in,and support of Azimut Benetti, there will be an educational element to the proceedings.

The captains will take place in a series of professional workshops, which will comprise groups of around 15 debating topics they have elected to discuss via a series ofonline votes conducted prior to the event.

There will also be a series of one-on-one interviews, examining ‘The Captains’ Perspective’, where participating captains recount their experiences working with the group.

SuperyachtNews.com editor, Will Mathieson will be conducting one of these interviews, with Captain Luca Mosca. Mosca has inherited an affinity for the “charm of thebrand” from his father, who skippered two Benettis in the 1970s and 1980s. He himself worked alongside his father on 47m Gulnev from 1986 to 1994.

Since gaining his master’s ticket, Mosca has captained 44m Reangel, 44m More, and now 56m Annaeva, all products of the Benetti yard.

The relationship that the Azimut Benetti Group aims to forge with its captains has proved very fruitful over the years. Indeed, in The Superyacht Intelligence Annual Report2015 the group is the most prolific deliverer of superyachts for 2014, in both the 30-45m motoryacht (13 yachts at an average of 35.2m) and the 45m+ motoryacht (fiveyachts at an average of 52m) categories.

Yacht builders like to up the ante on their competition. So, too, do some yacht buyers. But upping the ante on yourself?

The owners of Illusion V have done just that. Experienced cruisers who have previously owned finely detailed

megayachts, they commissioned Illusion V to be even grander in many ways.

The owners previously cruised aboard another Benetti, christened Illusion (now known as Wild Orchid). Delivered in

2010, she measures 149’6” (45.6 meters). According to the captain of Illusion V, with a new baby on the way, the

owners decided a bigger boat better suited their lifestyle.

Launched as Illusion I and renamed Illusion V a few months later, this 188’6” (57.5-meter) megayacht bears a 35-foot

(10.8-meter) beam. Green & Mingarelli Design ensured that the owners’ guests as well as charter guests would

experience an atmosphere of opulence even from the exterior decks.

High-gloss black walnut strikes a strong contrast against tones of white and cream infused in silks, parchment,

travertine marble, and abundant Lalique crystal, the latter in the form of sculptures, furniture insets, and lamps. The

decor theme that’s most noticeable aboard Illusion V, though, is the rose motif seen here. It’s repeated on the front of

bars (in Lalique crystal), in pillows, in the carpeting, on headboards, and in stone in the main foyer. (Surely, no red

wine will be consumed inside Illusion V.)

Large seating and relaxation areas invite guests to spend time together in the saloon, as elsewhere. Note, too, the bar

just visible forward of the seating area. Deep windows to each side make the area extra light and bright.



Alfresco dining is the order of the day aboard many a megayacht. Illusion V makes it easy for large parties to enjoy

still-intimate dinners just aft of the skylounge. The same area is ideal for Sunday brunch or big family breakfasts. A

dumbwaiter makes the job of the crew (13 in total) easier in that respect.

The sundeck makes outdoor dining even more attractive. Guests can escape the heat of the day here yet still enjoy cool

breezes. They can head straight back to the sunpads or the hot tub when they’re finished, too. No need to head below

decks at any point for a drink: A bar is conveniently located out by the hot tub, too.

What megayacht would be complete without a beach club? Illusion V has a fold-down transom like many projects these

days. A stowable dining table can be set up here. (Unfortunately for the crew, the dumbwaiter doesn’t come down to

this level, though a service elevator does.) The same platform allows guests to board one of the best collections of



watertoys around. To wit: snuba and scuba gear, fishing gear, inflatable toys, PWCs, and a Jetovator and Flyboard. (A

Jetovator is a hydro-powered flying seat, akin to the water-powered jetpacks but with a hose attached to a PWC. A

Flyboard employs a wakeboard attached to the firehose-like thruster. Both are increasingly popular, for good reason.)

Of course, even sun-chasing charter yachts can’t guarantee sunny skies every day. The private cinema aboard Illusion V

makes for a good cloudy-day escape. It can double as a seventh stateroom if needed.

From the intricately detailed decor to the attention to sound and vibration attenuation, the owners lavished attention

on Illusion V. Charter guests will get to experience it during her inaugural season in the Caribbean this winter, where

she’s available for $350,000 per week.

Benetti Yachts has launched the 196-foot Formosa, which was ordered in 2012 by a client

working with Fraser Yachts Worldwide.

Benetti’s in-house team handled all exterior styling and lines on the steel-and-aluminum

superyacht. Interior layout and design are by Sinot Design Studio, which penned five

staterooms plus an owner’s apartment that comprises an entire deck.

Accommodations also are on board for 14 crew.

Few details are being released about Formosa, but we know she is powered by a pair of MTU

12V 4000 M53 engines that generate a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

At 12 knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.

Benetti has announced the successful launch of 197-foot (60-meter) FB255

superyacht Formosa, sold in 2012 by Fraser Yachts, and launched on schedule in

December at Livorno.

The steel and aluminum superyacht, whose exterior styling and lines were all drawn in house at Benetti,has five decks, a beam of 35 feet (10.6 meters) and a total volume of 1,060 gross tons.

The interior layout and design of the guest’s area were created by the Sinot Design Studio, in closecollaboration with the owner. The layout is articulated in five suites for up to ten guests, and sets asideone whole deck for the owner’s apartments. The captain plus a crew of 14 is available to see to all theguest’s needs.

FB255 Formosa, which is powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines, developing 1,380 kwh at 1,800rpm, the FB255 has a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. At the fuel savingspeed of 12 knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.
