Andy Black
Andy Black is a graduate from Malone University
with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education
with an emphasis on piano and voice. Andy
has extensive performance experience in a wide
variety of musical styles, from jazz piano and vocals
to performing with Opera Cleveland and the Akron
Symphony Orchestra. He has also seen the stage in
other capacities, serving as an emcee in several campus
and community events. Several times a year, Andy assists
GlenOak High School’s vocal jazz ensembles by leading
their rhythm section, and traveling with them to perform in
Western Michigan University’s vocal jazz invitational every
spring. He is currently the director of music and worship at
First Friends Church in Salem, OH.
noAhSimionideSNoah, a senior at GlenOak High School, is involved in
the strings program as a bassist and in the band as a
trombonist. Noah plays electric and upright bass for
the Andy Black Trio and has wide-ranging experience,
both with the GlenOak vocal jazz ensembles and
as a member of The Brighter Side Band, where
he performed regularly in the Canton/Akron
area, as well as on the historic Beale Street
in Memphis, TN. Noah also plays in the
worship band at his church, The Chapel in
North Canton, and is currently preparing
for a missions trip to the Dominican
Republic through his youth group.
Keith WilSonKeith, a junior at the University of Mount Union, is pursuing his
bachelor’s of Music Education degree with a focus on percussion.
Keith has had much experience performing with the Alliance
Symphony Orchestra, as well as playing piano for Mt. Union’s
jazz band in and around the Akron/Canton area. He recently
enjoyed playing blues with the Brighter Side Band in the Canton/
Akron area, and highlighted with a performance on the renowned
Beale St. in Memphis, TN. Keith currently teaches at Kent State Stark
Campus for the local Blues in Schools program. He enjoys being
part of the jazz rhythm section at GlenOak High School, and
accompanying their vocals jazz ensembles at Western
Michigan University’s invitational each spring.
