BIOThis virtuous chilean jazz piano player, composer and arranger started his professional career very early. With only 14 years he started playing at the Hotel Carrera in Santiago de Chile.

He swiftly became one of the top secessionists in his country and participated in tv shows playing with artists like Miguel Bosé, Luis Jara or David Bisbal. He also was the official piano player of the renowned Viña del Mar Festival between 2.005 and 2.010, while recording with top local jazz artists like Christian Gálvez, Carlos Figueroa, Lamonart, Martina Lecaros or Andrés Pérez among others.

In 2.008 he was nominated to the “Altazor” awards, the most respected national arts contest in his native Chile.

His first studio record as bandleader, “Groovera”, arrived in 2.010, with the participation of his brother and father among many top players near Jorge Vera.

After migrating to Spain he seeked to enhance his musical influences and started playing with top local artists like Patax, Paloma San Basilio, Luis Salinas, Rosario Flores, Jimmy Barnatan, Alaín Pérez or the Bob Sanz Big Band to mention some.

After years of evolving his music, in 2.016 he recorded his second record “Luz”, targeting his music to a more jazz centered production. Accompanied with great artists like Christian Gálvez.

This work will position Jorge Vera at a new level as a bandleader and is already attracting the attention of the european jazz scene, starting to develop his international career with concerts around the continent.

LUZ

“Luz” is jazz fusion from the XXI century, blending baroque echoes , european mist and delicate latin counterpoints in an unique and very personal mix.

It counts with incandescent collaborations from a selected group of modern jazz masters that flank Jorge Verás musical flight: Antonio Serrano (harmonica) pouring magic in “Comprende”, Manuel Machado´s (trumpet) bringing his class to “Les Feuilles Mortes” or the great Jorge Pérez (percussion) filling the spaces as he only knows.

We can also find the amazing bass nuances of Christian Gálvez (Stanley Clarke, Bill Conham) creating intricate rhythmic patterns in combination with the equally extraordinary bass of Santiago Greco. The elegant drums of Shayan Fathi, the blinding saxophones of Lisandro Mansilla or Rafael Águila and the subtle voice of Amandine Savary complete the lineup of this fantastic record.

LUZ

Jorge Vera´s second record brings us twelve elaborate pieces of musical craftsmanship that alternate melodic lines with his usual torrential and overwhelming improvisations.
