Type DSK

Functional description

A new type of ceramic sensor forms the core of these units.

It consists of a thin aluminium oxide diaphragm, on the rear side of which thick-film resistors are fitted in a Wheatstone bridge circuit.

For stabilisation purpose, this diaphragm is connected to a thickaluminium oxide baseplate and is mounted in an appropriate casing with threated connections.

If the diaphragm is subjected to pressure, it bends slightly and therby changing the resistance of the thick-film resistors.

A downstream electronic converts the resistance into an analog signal.

Type DSA

Functional description

Series DSA / DSP pressure sensors are used to measure relative pressure, overpressure or absolute pressure.

High-quality stainless steel and front-flush diaphragm also allow these sensors to be used in viscous or contaminated media.

The measuring element is a silicon chip, out of which a diaphragm has been etched. A Wheatstone bridge circuit is formed by the apllication of foreign ions to the silicon diaphragm.When the diaphragm bends, a resistance change results which is a measurement of the pressure. If the rear side of the chip is prestressed with a reference vaccum, absolute pressure can also be measured.

Since silicon chips are very sensitive, the entire chip is enclosed in a measurering element chamber. This is for reasons of media compatibility. The chamber is separated from the medium by a stainless steel diaphragm. The pressure is transmitted with neutral oil.

Functional description

The structure of the difference pressure transmitter, series DDS, is based upon a new ceramic technology and is remarkable of a high temperature resistance and a special longterm stability.The thick-film resistors on the ceramic diaphragm form a Wheatstone bridge circuit.

The bridge circuit amplifier supplies the calibrated voltage or current signal as a standard signal.

The output signal is protected against polarity change and shortcircuit strength.

Functional description

Series DSN / DSL pressure sensors are mainly used to measure liquid filling levels.

The measuring element is a silicon chip, out of wich a diaphragm has been etched. A Wheatsone bridge circuit is formed by application of foreign ions to the silicon diaphragm.

When the diaphragm bends, a resistance change results which is a measurement of the pressure. In the level probe design the rear side of the diaphragm is connected to the surrounding air pressure by a compensating line.

The units can also be used in troubled media.
