RAISING A COMPLAINT OR CONCERN
Kings Park Primary School acknowledges that parents and caregivers have a right to raise concerns and air complaints they may have and to have them addressed appropriately. The School’s approach to handling concerns and complaints is based on a commitment to: • provide a safe and supportive learning environment • build relationships between students, parents and staff • provide a safe working environment for staff.
Parents wishing to raise a concern or complaint should contact KPPS in the first instance and telephone, visit or write to: • The student's teacher, if the issue occurred in the student’s class • The year level coordinator or Assistant Principal, if the incident occurred before school, after school or during recess breaks and involved students from several classes or year levels • The Assistant Principal, if the issue relates to staff members or complex student issues • The Principal, if the issue relates to school policy, school management, staff members or very complex student issues *If the complainant is not sure whom to contact they should contact the Assistant Principal.
Please note - AT NO TIME IS IT APPROPRIATE FOR A PARENT TO DIRECTLY ADDRESS OR CONFRONT ANOTHER STUDENT RIDING BIKES TO AND FROM SCHOOL Last term we were made aware that some children have been
riding bikes to and from school. As a school we have
generally discouraged riding to school as a means of transport
for primary school age children, to minimize the risk for our
students. The recommendation from the Education
Department states that children under the age of twelve years
do not have the neuro-physiological and psychological
development to cope with complex traffic situations on their
own. Please contact the office if you have nay questions
regarding this policy.
CONSUMABLE ITEM PAYMENT AND CSEF GRANT
The Consumable Item payment of $130.00 per child is now
overdue. This payment covers the Student’s Essential Items

home with your child’s report at the end of 2016. If you
would like a copy of this please call at the school office.
A payment booklet is available for families who wish to pay this amount in instalments. A deposit is required and then we will issue you with a payment book.

We’re very pleased to inform you that our school has implemented a
phone app called Updat-ed that will make connecting with you so
much more convenient.
To download the app just visit the App Store for iPhones or Google
Play for Android’s.
Search for Updat-ed
From the menu select our school. (We’ll receive your registration
request and will need to approve you before your app is up and
running)
So what will the app do?
The app’s great for accessing the absentee form if your child is absent,
accessing our monthly newsletter, downloading school newsletters
AND one of its best features being the ability to save events directly
into your phone’s calendar.
