Don’t forget our SunSmart Policy. Hats to be worn during
Terms 1 and 4.
Thank you to the many parents who returned the “Parent Opinion Survey” that was sent home with the last newsletter. The results are being evaluated and I will give a brief report in the next newsletter. However, at a glance, the results look very pleasing. There were isolated returned surveys that indicated concerns in certain areas. As the surveys were anonymous, I am unable to respond to those concerned parents, but I urge any parents to come and voice their concerns with us, so that we are able address the issues as well as possible.
School Council recently approved our next pupil –free Curriculum Day. It will be held on Monday June 23 and the staff will be involved in the first phase of our School Review process that I wrote about in the last newsletter. Staff will review our performance in regards to Student Achievement, Student Engagement and Student Welfare. I have tried to give parents and carers plenty of time to reorganise the supervision of their children on that day. Thank you.
On Thursday the 29th of May, the majority of our 5/6 students travelled to the Melbourne Town hall to listen and perform with The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Conductor, Richard Gill explained to our children about the different musical instruments of the orchestra. The theme for the day was to explore how music relates to places, life and culture in Australia. Our children performed a specially composed audience participation piece titled ‘Yananha.’ The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by both or students and staff.
Thank you to the many people for buying the raffle tickets. I think the cricket bat is moving on to a different venue next week as part of the promotion. I am sure the Anti-Cancer Council will put the funds raised to excellent use. Tickets can still be purchased at the office for $10 each.
