The students are looking refreshed after their break and were pleased to see their friends at school. Term 3 at Cambewarra can be very cold and windy so we suggest that students purchase school beanies from the uniform shop and have plenty of warm clothing clearly marked with their name. We have another busy term with NAIDOC Week celebrations planned for next week, Wakakirri Performances during Week 5 and Education Week towards the end of this term. As the children will need to prepare for the operation by shaving their hair we thought it would be great to do this at school with the support of all their friends. I have to admire the resilience and strength of the Biniuk family, particularly mum Amanda for holding the family together so lovingly. Here’s what Amanda wrote for our newsletter to you all: “As most of the students and parents are now probably aware the Biniuk kids - Daniel, Mitchell and Rhiana all have a condition called chiari 1 malformation. Current research states that there is no genetic link despite it being classed as a rare condition and all three children have it. Our family is not alone and other families have multiple sufferers so more research into the genetic link of this condition is needed. So considering it is so close to Jeans for Genes Day and Mitchell and Rhiana are having brain surgery to alleviate the symptoms of their chiari on the 26th of July, we thought we could get the school involved in raising money for genetic research; if they find the link then less invasive treatments of this condition and
