TREE WATERING

As part of National Schools Tree Day many weeks

ago, our students planted over one hundred trees at

the Campaspe River. On Tuesday this week, our

Grade P-3 students returned to complete some

watering and general maintenance.

Thanks to Ange Gladman from NCCMA for

organising our continued involvement in this

activitiy.

AXEDALE DISCO

It was great to see so many students at the

Axedale Events Disco last Thursday night.

Students at the Pre-school – Gr 1 Disco and the Gr

2-6 Disco really enjoyed themselves and are

looking forward to the next one!

Our thanks to the organising committee for

conducting a free event for the kids of Axedale.

MUSIC EVENING

On Wednesday 26th

November from 7pm (please

note change of date) we will again conduct our

Music Performance Evening. Our School Choir,

students who have learnt both guitar and singing

with Jo Woodward will have the opportunity to

perform and show their parents and the gathered audience what they have learnt throughout the year.

The performance will be followed by supper.

AXEDALE CWA AWARD

If any students are planning to submit an application for the Axedale CWA Youth Award, it does require a

reference from the Principal. Applications are due in on December 5th

. Please contact me asap if a reference

is required.

Overall the day was a really great day and we had a lot of

fun and learnt a lot more about the wars. My favourite story

was about the pilot that was on his last mission and he

risked his life to save his mates. By Keely

Tuesday was a great day. It was a big honour to lay the

flowers. I really liked the man who spoke about mates and

what they did for each other. By Jack

December As per previous years, our Grade 6 Graduation Evening will involve a friendly game of ten pin bowling at

the Bendigo Dragon City Lanes venue before moving to La Porchetta for tea.

Parents are encouraged to be a part of the bowling as well as joining us for tea. School will cover the cost of

all the bowling and the Gr. 6 student meals.

More details will be sent home closer to the date.

Our last fundraiser for the year will be the Christmas Raffle. Families are asked to

contribute a non-perishable item to our Christmas Hampers.

November at 9.15am.

Next Thursday morning, our Grade 6 students will be heading off to Bendigo South East Secondary College

for a tour and question time with Year 7 Co-ordinator Jill Fitzgerald. Mr. C and Ricky will be attending with

the students.

All children have been training at school and learning the modified rules. The day is a ‘fun’ participation day

and students do not need to have any cricket experience. A note was sent home with all 4/5/6 students

yesterday. This activity is part of the Active After School Program follow up.

Many thanks to Bill & Kelly (Travis’ parents) who have donated a number of tamper proof taps for the

GRADE 2/3 MINI-BEAST PROJECTS

The Grade 2/3 students have been working on their projects about mini-beasts. The project is due to be

completed by the end of November. As part of their project, students will be making a model of their chosen

mini beast. Students can use any material they want to produce a realistic model. This will be a part of the

student’s homework for the term. Students are asked to complete all work on their model at home. The

school has some materials available such as cardboard boxes and pipe cleaners, which can be used if needed.

If you are having trouble getting materials please come and see Miss Blume

MARC Final Borrowing Dates

The end of the school year is fast approaching and it is time to start chasing up all of the missing and

overdue library books for this year. Please remember that if books are lost or damaged, families will be

asked to replace or provide an appropriate donation to make up for the missing book.
