Autonom systemThe 1000DM constantly monitors product salinity and filter condition when in use, will alarm if service is needed, and will flush itself automatically at the end of its programmable run duration. Another unique feature is a patented electrical field generator that charges the incoming water with 35,000 volts of electricity placing a positive charge on particles in the water that allow for higher and faster rejection and at the same time significantly reducing membrane fouling.

Whisper modeThe 1000DM is whisper quiet, as much as 5 times quieter than conventional systems by the use of the energy recovery system available only on an Aspen system. The combination of a high efficiency DC primary pump and the energy recovery system eliminates the need for high-pressure adjustment in the field when using water at different levels of salinity.

Control systemThe 1000DM is operated by the most sophisticated automatic controller and electronic monitoring module available today, providing trouble free service no matter how demanding the environment. While other systems use gauges and require constant monitoring with repeated reference to an operating manual, a quick scroll through the Aspen digital display will provide the operator with the exact status of the system.

Energy efficientThe 1000DM is 5 times more energy efficient than a conventional AC system and provides wire to water at 12 watts per gallon. (Less than half of the energy requirement for a hair dryer or less than 650 watts) Total usage is 1.2 KW per 1,000 gallons rivaling large commercial units on efficiency and never before available in such a small system. The unit can run directly off of a 24/28-volt Humvee or other US or NATO Military vehicle and will automatically recognize and convert AC power sources to 24-volts DC.

The Purification ProcessTwo Stage Filtration. The first stage removes dirt and large particles through an external screen. The second stage removes harmful microorganisms such as paramecium, amoeba, giardia, cryptosporidium and other small matter down to 1 micron in size.

Water TreatmentThe replaceable multi-media water canister effectively treats 28,000 liters of surface water containing contaminants such as lead, barium, selenium and arsenic prior to replacement. It also removes high levels of manmade pollutants such as solvents, insecticides and petrochemicals. When used to eliminate possible microbial

Safety Features

ASPEN 2000DMThe 2000DM is the most compact, versatile, full featured, computer

controlled, energy efficient, mobile reverse osmosis system available

today. All internal mechanical systems are mounted on a strong

lightweight aluminium frame enclosed in a ruggedized military style case.

General infoThe 2000DM utilizes water sources ranging from fresh surface or well water to heavy sea (salt) water. This versatility comes from a unique pumping and injection system, with a variable recovery rate, producing the maximum product flow from the feed water.

Energy usageThe energy required to operate the Aspen 2000DM is less than 1,500 watts and is fully operational on 90/250VAC 50-60 Hz; or from a 24 to 28 VDC power source, the same used on military vehicles. Cables for both AC and NATO DC plug are provided with each system. The complete system operates on any of the small 2 KW or larger JP8 fueled military generators, or a small commercial generator.

Energy efficientThe 2000DM automatically adjusts power demand to maximize efficiency. Energy efficiency is aided by the exclusive use of the patented second generation Energy Recovery Device “ER Pump”, allowing the system to produce drinking water at a substantial reduction of the energy used by a conventional RO purification system. The ER Pump allows working pressure up to 1200 psi for operation in heavy salt water conditions.

Electronic Control Drawer Power and microprocessor controlled circuitry are housed in a compact, easily removed, Electronic Control Drawer “ECD” that features push button controls and a large LCD function display. The ECD monitors operations with audible and visual alarms and automatic shut down if necessary. The Aspen 2000DM provides manual override controls for easy service; or operates in a basic mode if the computer controller fails.

Pre-treatmentAn Electronic Pre-treatment Module “EPM” induces a small charge on impurities present in the feed water. This aids in keeping the impurities from attaching to the membrane surface, greatly reducing biological growth and mineral scale.

Automatic flush systemAdditionally, the automatic flush system adds substantially to the service life of the system by reducing corrosion and biological fouling.

SYSTEM OPERATION

Easy maintanance

The custom 1200 psi membrane pressure vessels are easily removed for membrane replacement and the high pressure hoses are oversized for better efficiency. Interconnecting plumbing is

made of easily removable sub-assemblies with cam-lock connectors. All the valves and half of the sensors are part of these assemblies. Removal of the Filter Housings and the plumbing assemblies provide easy access to the pumps. All of the pumps and motors are replaceable without removing the frame from the case.

Storage and TransportEach 2000DM comes with a second case which is the same size as the main unit and “nests” for easy transportation. The cases are available in desert brown and olive green. The optional “Pull-Around” attachment for the 2000DMis the preferred solution for ease of movement from a transport vehicle to the desired setup location. The Pull-Around is stored in asupport case and is easy to attach.

ASPEN 60000 HO LMTThe Aspen High Output 60,000 Lightweight/Mobile/Tactical Purifier is a self-contained

water purification system comprised of a diatomaceous earth (DE) filter and a chlorine

injection system. Its compact size and portability allows purifying over 11,000 liters

per hour of water at the point of need.

What contaminants does it remove?DE filtration is proven to remove particulates in the one-micron range including turbidity, bacteria and chlorine-resistant pathogens such as cryptosporidium and giardia. Certain grades of DE are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for drinking water system components and independent university labs confirmed that DE can remove >6

logs (99.9999%) of the above contaminants. The chlorine system is designed to kill any viruses present in the feed water. It is widely recognized that contamination from microbes and viruses pose a greater immediate threat to human health than most other contaminants.

How does such a small system deliver so

much water?DE has unique physical and chemical properties providing a highly effective filtering media in many filtration applications. De’s inertness in almost all liquids and its internal pore structure provides high permeability, and low bulk density.

How long does a filtration cycle last? That depends on the amount of impurities in the feed water, but the system can be adjusted to efficiently handle varying amounts of contaminants. Typical operation calls for backwashing of the system after 20 hours of operation. Only about five percent of the total amount of water processed is required for the backwashing operation.

Is this new technology?Municipal water treatment plants have used DE filtration in conjunction with chlorine disinfection for over 80 years.

Why do you use chlorine as a

disinfectant?In many environments the water distribution systems after purification are susceptible to microbial contamination, and chlorine offers better residual disinfection.

AVICS IINATO Automatic Charge Controller. AVICS II is a NATO vehicle integrated charging system that eliminates mounting and hard wiring a charge controller on vehicles. AVICS II can easily be moved from vehicle to vehicle. AVICS II displays the voltage from the solar panel prior to connecting to the vehicle. When connected to the NATO receptacle, battery charge status is displayed. (Red LED indicates charging).

AVICS® systems work extremely well with large mobile battery systems. With AVICS® there is no need to run any internal wiring or mount a charge controller on a vehicle or a power supply that has a NATO slave connector. AVICS® systems have the charge controller mounted with the solar product, making it easily transferable from one piece of equipment to another; effectively providing a controlled charge for depleted

batteries in the field. Successfully integrating AVICS® with flexible (rolled or folded) solar modules is a major milestone for solar products in military applications.

Power outputThe AVICS® delivers up to 22 amps, or 500 Watts, allowing for concurrent use of multiple solar arrays. Up to 4 solar panels ranging from 15 to 124 watts can be connected together with a single junction box to provide faster rates of controlled charging of battery systems.
