Care must be taken to comply with all the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements when looking at car safety devices.
Several special processes must be followed before a special needs car seat can be used in a vehicle – including exemptions from the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
Other safety devices such as specialised harnesses or buckle covers may also fall within the NDIS Commission’s purview of restrictive practices. As such, some extra protocols may need to be followed before implementing any additional devices.
