This recall involves bébé brand baby food makers manufactured by Hamilton Beach. The baby food maker is a small food processor. It has a white and gray motor base with an orange control knob, a clear plastic, five-cup food bowl and a gray-colored food bowl lid with a built-in food chute. “Hamilton Beach” and “bébé” are on the front of the motor base. The food maker comes with the following accessories: a chopping and mixing blade, a slicing and shredding disc, a removable motor shaft adapter, a food pusher, a three-cup steaming basket, 10 storage containers and two storage container caddies.

HAZARD:

Use of the slicing/shredding disc with the motor shaft adapter can cause the stainless steel pin in the food bowl lid to loosen and fall into processed food.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

Hamilton Beach has received four reports of the stainless steel pin in the food bowl lid becoming loose, including three in which the pin fell into processed food. There have been no reports of injuries or property damage.

Consumers should immediately stop using the slicing/shredding disc and contact Hamilton Beach to receive a free replacement food bowl lid, motor shaft adapter and slicing/shredding disc. Consumers may continue to use the baby food maker for steaming, chopping and pureeing.

This recall involves all Trident Series 2 ultraviolet sanitation systems for pools. The sanitation systems are a gray tube that stands 32 inches high by 11 inches in diameter. They are plumbed into the pool’s water circulation pipes and plugged in or hard-wired into an electrical system. The pool’s water runs through the unit and is sanitized by ultraviolet lamps. This is a secondary sanitation system used in conjunction with chemical sanitizers such as chlorine or bromine. “Trident Ultraviolet Corporation,” “Series 2” and “UV Ultraviolet Sanitation System” are printed on a black label on the front of the units. “Trident Series 2 Ultraviolet Water Treatment System” and a series of letters for the date code are printed on a silver sticker on the units. The rectangular heaters included in the recall are about 12 inches tall, 8 ½ inches wide and 5 ½ inches deep and have model number HCH1823M printed on a label on the bottom of the product. The “Holmes” logo is on the bottom front of the unit and two knobs controlling the fan and the thermostat are on the top. The heater adjusts between a high and low heat setting and a fan only setting.

The recalled units have circuit boards that are green on both sides and either Rev B or Rev C printed in the top left corner. Emergency lights with circuit boards that are beige on one side and ELM2 LED, ELM2 SD and ELM2 WRS fixtures are not included in the recall.

HAZARD:

The circuit board can overheat and cause the fixture to melt, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

Lithonia Lighting has received 29 reports of circuit boards overheating and fixtures melting or catching fire, with one incident resulting in more than $100,000 of property damage to an office building. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should contact Lithonia Lighting to receive detailed instructions on how to locate the circuit board and series name and to order a free repair kit, which includes a new circuit board.

DESCRIPTION

This recall involves Commercial Electric brand basic hanging shop lights that use two, 48-inch, two-pin, T8, fluorescent lamps. The recalled shop light is a metal light fixture with four plastic lamp sockets and a white finish. It is 48 inches long, 4.25 inches wide and 2.5 inches high and has two 10.5-inch long chains for hanging. The lamp sockets must be snapped into place during installation. Model number CESL401-06 and SKU number 201-462 are printed on a white label on the top of the fixture.

The lamp sockets can allow loose connections, posing a risk of an electrical arc and fire.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES

Cordelia Lighting has received 888 reports of incidents, including 382 of units smoking, 328 of units catching on fire, 173 of units sparking and five of units with electrical arcing. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the shop lights and return them to any Home Depot store for a full refund.

This recall includes all Nest Protect Smoke + CO alarms. The alarms are made of black or white plastic and are about 5.25 inches square with rounded corners and about 1.5 inches deep. The word “nest” is on a large button on the face of the alarm. Consumers can enable the alarms to be controlled by a computer or a smartphone over a wireless network. The alarms have a Nest Wave feature, which allows users to temporarily silence some alerts or cancel a manual test by vigorously waving an arm near the unit that triggered the alarm. Nest Protect Smoke + CO alarms came from the factory with the Nest Wave feature enabled and with the slider button in the “On” position in Nest Protect Settings.

The recall involves adult portable bed handles sold by Bed Handles Inc. from 1994 through 2007 that do not have safety retention straps to secure the bed handle to the bed frame to keep the bed handle from shifting out of place and creating a dangerous gap. Recalled models include the Original Bedside Assistant® (BA10W), the Travel Handles™ (BA11W) which is sold as a set of two bed handles, and the Adjustable Bedside Assistant® (AJ1).

The L-shaped bed handles are made out of ¾ inch tubular steel, measure 20 inches wide, 16 to 20 inches tall and have 3 ft. poles that extend under the mattress. The Original Bedside Assistant® (BA10W) and the Travel Handles™ (BA11W) have a white handle with white poles that go under the mattress. The Adjustable Bedside Assistant® (AJ1) is gold in color and has a black cushioned foam handle. The bed handles are intended to assist adults with getting in and out of bed by giving them a bar to grip. Bed Handles Inc. and the model number are printed on a white label on the bed handles.

They were sold by home health care stores, drug stores and medical equipment stores nationwide and in home and health care catalogs from January 1994 through December 2007 for about $100. They were manufactured in the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using all recalled bed handles that were sold without safety retention straps. Contact Bed Handles Inc. for free safety retention straps to secure the bed handle to the bed frame, new assembly and installation instructions for models BA10W, BA11W and AJ1 and a warning label to attach to the bed handles. The bed handles should be used only with the safety retention straps securely in place attaching the bed handle to the bed frame in order to prevent a gap.

The TAC Elite Crossbow is black with a 22-inch wide bow. The crossbow has split limbs made of fiberglass. Cam pulleys are mounted between the upper and lower halves of both limbs. “PSE Archery” is printed on the outer side of the upper and lower halves of both limbs. It has an aluminum rail/barrel, a pistol grip and an M-4 carbine style adjustable stock that allows the crossbow length to be extended from 41.5 inches to 45 inches. The PSE logo and the model name are on an emblem mounted above the trigger housing on the left side of the crossbow. The crossbow comes with a bipod, a scope and three arrows. TAC Elite crossbows with serial numbers 2097056 through 2134901 are being recalled.

The TAC Ordnance Crossbow is black with a 22-inch wide bow. The crossbow has split limbs made of fiberglass. Cam pulleys are mounted between the upper and lower halves of both limbs. “PSE Archery” is printed on the outer side of the upper and lower halves of both limbs. It is 34.75 inches long with aluminum rails and does not have a trigger housing or a stock. The PSE logo and the model name are on an emblem mounted near the rear of the left side of the crossbow. The crossbow comes with a bipod, a scope and three arrows. TAC Elite crossbows with serial numbers 2121938 through 2133384 are being recalled.

Serial numbers for the TAC Elite and TAC Ordnance are engraved directly above the hand grip.

The Enigma crossbow is camouflage colored. It has a 20-inch wide bow with a black stirrup attached to the front. The crossbow has split limbs made of fiberglass. Cam pulleys are mounted between the upper and lower halves of both limbs. It has aluminum rails, a pistol grip and a rifle style stock with an adjustable butt plate that allows the crossbow length to be extended from 40.5 inches to 44.75 inches. The PSE logo and the model name are on an emblem mounted above the trigger housing on the left side of the crossbow. The crossbow comes with a scope, a side-mounted quiver, a sling and a cocking rope. All Enigma crossbows are being recalled.
