REACHING IN…..REACHING OUT (RIRO)
EVENEMENTS FRANCOPHONES

MANAGING CONFLICT AND COMMUNICATION - SEPTEMBER 18, 2019
When you have a professional team, who care passionately about what they do, there are bound to
be differences of opinions. Interpersonal conflicts can arise in a number of different ways in a
childcare setting, including when dealing with families. Conflicts that are not effectively managed
have a negative impact on the whole team, affecting morale and productivity. This can lead to an
increase in absenteeism, resignations, and can ultimately result in harassment complaints. Taking a
proactive approach in evaluating our communication climate and looking at ways to effectively
managing those differences of opinions, especially during times of change, is the key to success in
managing conflict and challenging situations. Join us for an interactive session on how we
communicate, the assumptions we make when communicating and how to effectively manage
conflict.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: DEALING WITH CHALLENGING PERFORMANCE
NOVEMBER 27, 2019
When it comes to on-going performance management, are you getting the long term results you
want? Are staff being encouraged and/or inspired to do their best performance? Managing staff
performance, dealing with performance issues and behaviours can be the most challenging part of
your job. This interactive session covers the tools and techniques you can use to successfully
manage performance issues whether the challenges lie in the staff’s ability to perform the duties of
the job (poor work behaviour) or the staff’s failure to follow your organization’s policies and practices
(improper workplace behaviour).
