Thank you to all who attended. Mary Robertson of Nona Ruth’s gave us a great hands-on tutorial using the Amy Howard One Step Paint. I know everyone is enjoying their new painted picture frame. We gained a new skill, learned about an innovative product, and had lots of laughs with old and new friends. Not to mention, we got to shop! Nona Ruth’s has so many beautiful home décor items. You still have time to participate in the Membership Drive and the chance to win a $250 Spa Gift Certificate! See more details inside. You don’t want to miss our next event, Tuesday, November 4th. Gina has been an involved member of Professional Women in Building for the past three years. Gina is always in attendance with a smile and kind word. We are proud to have such a talented and accomplished professional woman of the building industry, a part of our council.

Gina’s Alma Mater: Gina received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Augusta State University in Georgia, and her Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design from Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham.

Gina is the Designer for Oak Alley Design/Build Remodeling in the Birmingham, Alabama Area. She has worked with Oak Alley for the past nine years and has received several awards for her designs from the Home Builders Association of Alabama and from ASID Alabama. Prior to becoming an interior designer, Gina was a special education teacher in Augusta, Georgia.

Career:

Family Fun: Gina lives in Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills, Alabama with her husband, Skip Kitchens. They have two grown daughters, Jody and Laura, and one grandson.

PWB Involvement:

Other Organizations: Gina is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and served as Membership Director for the Alabama Chapter for two years. Gina currently serves on the Board of Directors for Glenwood Autism and Behavioral Health Center in Birmingham, and volunteers her time assisting Glenwood in many ways. She is a charter member of Liberty Crossings UMC in Birmingham, where she has served as a Trustee and member of the Building Committee. Prior to relocating to Alabama, Gina served as President of the Richmond County, Georgia Council of PTAs, and was honored as leading the best PTA program in Georgia in 1994.
