4HXR specializes in the design, engineering and supervision of drilling projects all over the world. It is structured into two divisions — Project Management and Wellsite Consulting (PMWC) and Extended Reachand Deepwater Drilling (ERD).

Clients typically task PMWC to come in at the outset of projects and provide drilling/completions engineersand management personnel to research, perform cost analysis, permit and plan new projects or major projectexpansions. Follow-on service will be to provide companymen/wellsite leaders as the project evolves fromplanning to execution phases, including road/pad design, rig specifications, third-party vendor relations, etc.

It is typically at this point that the second division, Extended Reach and Deepwater Drilling (ERD), will betasked to design and optimize the wells being drilled and provide engineering support, office- or rig-based,during the drilling operations. In addition, ERD is commonly tasked to come in on a client’s ongoing projectsto help with the design of the more difficult upcoming wells in the program and to provide on-site drilling engineering specialists for the duration of the design and drilling process. Our drilling specialists are beyondthe scope of individualized contractors such as ERD “hole condition monitors” or contract fluids engineers,taking all aspects of the drilling process into account without subscribing to a certain agenda or method.

HXR has global experience, from the North Slope to the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, West Africa deepwaterand the Middle East/Caspian region.

HXR’s core partners and upper-level management have come together from different backgrounds that coverthe complete scope of drilling operations. These backgrounds include senior and staff engineering positions(drilling and completions) with major operators on both offshore/deepwater and ERD wells, DirectionalDrilling Supervisors with a focus on 10,000′+ laterals and multilaterals, and senior scientists in drilling fluids.HXR has working partnerships with several up/midstream contractors of various disciplines, from large-scalefacilities engineering to pumping services and bit sales. In conjunction with our PMWC division, these relationships prove to be quite helpful to clients looking to start projects in new areas.

HXR has also worked with a major software vendor to develop specialized drilling engineering software thatallows the user, both clients and our own drilling advisors, to not only design their own wells, but also to integrate real-time, rig-based data into the model.

HXR’s Project Management and Wellsite Consulting division fills the niche between specialized engineering companies, suchas those involved in ERD and managed-pressure drilling (MPD), and conventional consulting companies. The specialized ERD andMPD companies are quite adept at engineering and providing rig-site “hole condition monitors” for specific wells; however, theyare limited in their scope and in their overall role in the drilling process. In addition, they do not provide supervisory personnel underany circumstances. The conventional consulting companies provide the client with an individual. Period. No input into the operation, no basic supervision, not even the benefit of cumulative years of experience handed down through their organization. HXR’s Engineers, Field Consultants and Drilling Specialists work together, as well as with our clients, to successfully deliver their mostdifficult wells, using not only decades of hands-on drilling experience, but also some of the most advanced engineering softwareavailable. HXR also works seamlessly with the various downhole tool and service vendors to ensure that the equipment and techniques used on our clients’ wells are fit for purpose. Our company specializes in:

HXR provides specialized Drilling and Completions Engineering services to operators as well as service companies (primarilydirectional drilling and downhole tool vendors). We specialize in providing rigsite-based Drilling Specialists who work directly with our clients’ engineering team as their representative on site. Additionally, we specialize in in-house Well Design Studies(WDS), in which we take all of the relevant data available and use it to prepare an overall well design, by hole section, that willallow the well to be drilled with the best chance of success.

I N T EGRATED S ERV I C E S

HXR’s Integrated Services division is developing a network of regional service companies in a variety of fields. A major complaintof many of our clients is that there are just a few “major” providers of bundled oilfield services. While that may be desirable from a contracting and procurement standpoint, many of our clients wish they could deal with smaller, more specialized vendors whoknow their specific areas in-depth. HXR believes that a combination of the two business models is the right approach: localizedvendors bundled under one procurement contract.

HXR has partnered with Pegasus Vertex, Inc., to jointly develop two of the industry’s most advanced modular suites available, ERDPro™ and DEEPWATERPro™. ERDPro™ is tailored to horizontal and extended reach wells, both on- and offshore, and features not only well planning and design capability, but field-measured data input as well. DEEPWATERPro™ contains all of the utility of ERDPro™, but has additional capabilities that are more specific to deepwater drilling, including inputs for sonic, resistivity and d-exponent overlays for porepressure prediction.
