Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is the brand ambassador of billionaire Mukesh Ambani's telecom venture Reliance Jio.Khan and musician AR Rahman hosted the soft launch function of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd's (RJIL) 4G service on December 27.

"We have only seen tip of the iceberg. It will lead to a lot of innovations. This will increase speed. Speed will increase information, knowledge. It will be used at various places, I think, from education to production to manufacturing. I am talking very futuristic," Khan said.

Jio 4G data services are not intended to lure only the high-end customers but also focus on the low to mid range segments. These sections of the market are being targeted by offering all services at reasonable prices.

LYF smart phones are priced between Rs. 4,000 to Rs 19,000 which provides maximum off take, therefore helping Jio derive high returns.

Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani said that customers who signed up for Jio on or before March 31 could continue making free voice calls and get 1GB of data free daily at a nominal fee.

The prices of LYF handsets have been determined considering that India is soon becoming a country where smart phone users prefer to perform most tasks on their cellular devices. Recently, Reliance Jio launched LYF WIND 1 which is one of the best mobile under 10000 under the LYF brand. From keeping a track of the latest news, watching movies, playing games, to reading books, the smart phone is becoming an all-encompassing device.

This very reason is the motivation behind Reliance Jio’s attempt at creating affordable handsets and services that meet high-quality standards.

Additionally, Reliance Jio also partnered up with Samsung by offering free Jio services to customers for a period of 90 days on the purchase of select Samsung Galaxy smart phone models. The telecom company will also partner with Apple iPhones, which will further expand its reach.

Jio aims at creating an entire digital ecosystem, offering broadband services, applications, smart devices, and mobile telephony facilities. It’s offerings range from a wide library of recorded and live music programs, television shows, sports programs to movies.

JIO APPS In May 2016, Jio launched a bundle of multimedia apps on Google Play as part of its upcoming

4G services. While the apps are available to download for everyone, a user will require a Jio SIM card to use them. Additionally, most of the apps are in beta phase. Following is a list of the apps:

JIO PERSONAL WIFILYF-powered JioFi is a portable broadband device brought to you by Reliance Digital. JioFi device allows multiple users and mobile devices to access Jio's 4G high-speed internet connectivity and create a personal Wi-Fi hotspot. The LYF-powered JioFi device can connect a minimum of 10 devices + 1 USB connection, with some models having the ability to support many more connections.

Impact of jio Jio's attractive plans and quick growth have

dealt a blow to its competitors in recent months. For Bharti and  Idea, voice and data revenues fell in excess of 10 percent on a quarter on quarter basis in Q3.

Jio had received an unprecedented level of acceptance for any technology company. Before Jio’s launch, India ranked 150th in the world in broadband penetration, but had now become the no.1 country in the world for mobile data usage as Indians made 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls every day.

Ambani Has predicted that by the end of 2017, Jio will have a presence in nearly every corner of the country and would cover 99% of the population.
