Transportation in Taipei

• Taipei's public transport system, the Taipei Metro, incorporates a metro and light rail system based on advanced VAL and Bombardier technology.

• An extensive city bus system serves metropolitan areas not covered by the metro, with exclusive bus lanes to facilitate transportation.

• The Taiwan High Speed Rail system opened in 2007. The bullet trains connect Taipei with the west coast cities of Banciao, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan and Kaohsiung.
