If anyone feels that they have went through harassment or have been discriminated against, the Act allows for them to make a complaint to the Commission. The Commission’s solution process is to return the complaint to the position they would be in if they did not under go harassment or discrimination.
Commission: The act of granting certain powers or the authority to carry out a particular task or duty.
Statements, publications, notices, signs, symbols, emblems
Facilities and services Tenancy (Possession of land or property as a
tenant) Employment practices, applications or
advertisements Membership in trade unions, employers’
organizations or occupational associations
Trade Union: An organized association of workers in a trade, group of trades, or profession, formed to protect and further their rights and interests
Race: the group of people of the same heritage Religion: system of belief and worship Gender: being male, female or even transgender, also
protecting sexual harassment Physical and Mental Disabilities: deformity, malformations
or disfigurements caused by birth, injuries or illness. Mental disabilities including mental disorder or learning disorders
Marital Status: being married, divorced, widowed, single etc. Place of Origin: birth place Family Status: being adopted, or by blood Sexual Orientation: being homosexual, bisexual or
heterosexual
The Act prohibits anyone retaliating a complaint against another person who has made a complaint or assisted someone making a complaint. The act also does not allow another person to make a complaint with an evil motive.
Retaliating: Make an attack or assault in return for a similar attack.
