2.CrisisLeave(PPM#29)

CrisisleaveisapoolofannualleavedonatedbyOLG/DCRTemployeesthatmaybeusedbyeligibleemployeeswhocannotworkbecauseofacatastrophicillnessorinjurytothemselvesoraneligiblefamilymember.Theprogramisdesignedtoassistemployeeswhohaveinsufficientappropriatepaidleavetouseduringthecrisisperiod.InaccordancewithCivilServiceRules,anemployeeutilizingcrisisleavemayonlyearn75%oftheirregularwages.Therefore,whenkeyingcrisisleave,atimekeepermustproratetheleavehoursinordertocomplywiththisrestriction.Forexample,ifanemployee’sworkscheduleincludes8‐hourdays,thetimekeepermustreducethecrisisleaveentrytobe6hoursperday(8hoursx0.75prorated).

A.PayrollCalendar

WhencanIenterpayroll?

TimekeepersmayenterpayrollforweekoneofthepayperiodnoearlierthanthefirstThursdayofthepayperiod.PayrollforweektwoofthepayperiodshouldbeenterednoearlierthanthesecondThursdayofthepayperiod.Timekeepersmayonlymakeentriesonfuturedatesinanemployee’stimefileforthesecondweekendofthepayperiod.Projectedtimeforfuturedates(weekends)maybeenterednoearlierthanthesecondThursdayofthepayperiod.ThismeansthatpayrollshouldonlybeenteredonThursdayorFriday,makinganynecessarycorrectionsonthefollowingMonday.ExceptionstothisproceduremayonlybegrantedbytheHumanResourcesDivision(HR)andwill be approved on a case‐by‐case basis.Note:whenthecloseofpayperiodcoincideswithaholiday,HRwillprovideguidanceontheproperpayrollentrydatewellinadvanceofthepayrolldeadline.

YoumayscanandemailthePPAtotheHRanalystinchargeofPPAentriesorfaxittotheHRDivisionat(225)342‐7928.Thesearethetwopreferredmethodsofsubmissionastheyexpeditetheentryoftheadjustmentandhelptoavoidpotentialerrorsassociatedwithpayrolladjustments.Itisnotnecessarytomailanoriginalcopy.
