INCLUSIVE GROWTH-MARCHING TOGETHER:Role of Public Relations
Public Relations Society of India is organising during
December 19-21, 2014 at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur - the Pink City. This conference will address the basic
philosophy and tools of Public Relations and communication challenges and opportunities of social media,
new concept of development, inclusive growth and governance.
Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the national association of PR practitioners was established
in 1958. It came into being with the mandate to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession
and to formulate and interpret to the public, the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a
strategic management function.
PRSI has 25 chapters across the country and over 3000 members. The organisation, through its
sustained efforts and campaigns has emerged as a beacon of PR and Media intelligentsia. PRSI organized
the 1st International PR Festival in 2005 at New Delhi. It was a unique event, which for the first time
presented a confluence of three important PR bodies, viz. PRSI, Global Alliance for PR & Communication
Management and International PR Association (IPRA) in India. The 2nd International PR Festival which
was held in Mauritius in August, 2008, helped to bring closer the people of Mauritius and India who have
enjoyed close bonds over centuries. Indo-Thailand Round Table Conference was organised in Thailand
during June, 2013.
Every year, PRSI organises All India Public Relations Conference which has become a 'Kumbh' for the th
PR practitioners of the country. The forthcoming 36 All India Public Relations Conference in JAIPUR looks
forward to dealing with the concept of 'Sabka Saath - Sabka Vikas', a vision of inclusive growth and unity
pronounced by our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This conference looks forward to interact and
share various perspectives on this important issue with various groups of stakeholders.
The Jaipur Chapter of PRSI, which was earlier christened as Rajasthan Chapter started functioning
informally since July, 1990. However, it was formally inaugurated on April 21, 1991 by the then Governor of
Rajasthan, Prof. D.P. Chattopadhyaya. Eminent author, poet and PR practitioner, Dr. Manohar Prabhakar
is the founding chairman of the Jaipur Chapter. Since very beginning the Jaipur Chapter has made rapid
strides in the sphere of academic pursuits by organizing a lagre number of symposia and seminars on a
wide range of topics concerning communication, media and PR. It has also undertaken an ambitious
programme of bringing out publications and newsletters on different aspects of PR in Hindi and in English.
These activities largely own to the endeavors of the successive chairmen of the Chapter and their
teams. Besides vide range of academic endeavors and its collaboration with media organisations of
national and international repute, a major achievement of the Chapter has been the organizing of All India
Public Relations National Conference in 1995 which was considered to be one of the best events of PRSI at
national level.
Nearly three centuries old, Jaipur has been fascinating people from all parts of the globe. Poets,
painters, photographers and writers have been delineating the charms and glories of this city with a soul
through various genres of creative forms. The world literature festival being held at Jaipur every year leaves
testimony to this assertion. Jaipur, the wonderful city invites you to join us at the 36th National Convention of
PRSI soliciting your active participation and support.

Inclusive Growth-Marching Together : Role of Public Relations
THEME OF THE CONFERENCE
'SABKA SAATH-SABKA VIKAS'
Democracy is undoubtedly the best form of governance and we Indians are proud to be the partners of
world's largest democracy. Globalisation of economy, increasing presence of multinationals, winning
advantages of information technology, growing population of educated youth, rising levels of expectations
in the RTI era and serious demand for 'trust, accountability and transparency' have been the highlights of
Indian democracy during the chequred yesteryears.
Appreciating the need of development with a participatory model keeping in mind quality standards of
services and development Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has given the concept of 'Sabka
Saath-Sabka Vikas' i.e. Inclusive Growth-Marching Together. This great vision has now become the new
Indian Government's development plan.
'Sabka Saath - Sabka Vikas' touched millions of Indian hearts. It underlines the need of inclusive
growth through active participation of everybody. Further our PM has also focused on his own plilosophy of
PANCHAMRUT which is the integration of five different streams i.e. panchashakti (five vital powers) of
knowledge, water, energy, security and human resources. The five fundamental powers required to
achieve holistic and sustainable growth. The mantra of Sabka Saath - Sabka Vikas and philosophy of
Panchamrut forms the corner stone of PM's model of governance. The model is unique and worth
emulating in each and every field of activities.
The ideal role of PR is described to work as the catalyst between the government / non government /
corporate organisations and the society to build and maintain their positive image and a healthy two-way
communication. In fact, the objective of PR is to harmonize an organisation with the social environment by
communicating honestly, consistently and continuously in order to gain in return credibility, public goodwill,
mutual understanding and respect. Public Relations which works for creating bridges of trust and building
right image with sustained efforts based on truth is constantly heading towards professional progress. ' Shri
Narendra Modi has emerged as PR Man of the decade first performing par excellence and secondly using
the new media in a very effective manner. th36 All India Public Relations Conference salutes Prime Minister Modi and dedicate this year's
conference to India of his dreams. The conference will examine all the opportunities to give wings to the
dreams of 'Sabka Saath : Sabka Vikas'. How the agenda of development can be effectively implemented
with the professional use of communication and Public Relations will be the focus of this Public Relations
Festival.
The Theme will be discussed in more than seven plenary sessions by distinguished Leaders,
authorities, scholars, dignitaries, media luminaries, PR and communication specialists.
• Corporate communication and PR practitioners
• Management / media consultants
• Central & State Government Officials.
