Introduction• www.mosques.com.my is a web community portal which focuses on

mosques in the whole of Malaysia and will eventually be expanded throughout the world

• The portal was developed by Seleksi Angsana Sdn Bhd which was established in 2007 and is headed by Mahmud Zuhdi Zainudin

• It aims to bring people who share the same interests about mosques together and provide a platform to exchange information between mosques and the general public as well as to invite members of the public to assist in the funding of mosque up –keeping and other requirements

• This project is carried out in collaboration with JAKIM (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia)

• An extension of the portal is the publication of the book Malaysian Mosques, which is the first comprehensive directory cum coffee table book of almost all the mosques in Malaysia

www.mosques.com.my• www.mosques.com.my currently contains the listing of over 5,000

mosques in Malaysia categorised according to the States and districts they are located in

• The portal provides all possible information on the mosques including:– historical and architectural info– photo gallery of the mosques interior and exterior – location maps with satellite and hybrid images– list of services– committee contact details – Mosque events in preferred area

• In addition, the portal offers and promotes mosque and Islamic related products and services such as discussion papers about Islam, halal food, places and products, mosque donation contacts, etc. Additional features that will be included in the web portal includes:– Bulletin for Islamic related activities– Hijrah Calendar

www.mosques.com.my• As one of the main aims of this portal is to provide a platform for exchange

of information from and to the mosques, we have set up a structure to enable this to be easily used and administered by each mosque

• Each mosque in Malaysia will be given a basic homepage for which will allow the mosque’s authorised person (i.e. from the mosque’s committee) to upload and update information such as the mosque’s:– general information and selected photographs– contact details and names of mosque committee members– activities during a particular week / month– announcement of areas which need repair and/or in need of donations

• In addition to the basic page which is given for free to each mosque, the portal is also able to add enhancements to each mosque’s individual webpage at a cost depending on the request. Additional enhancements can include items such as– Upload of khutbah or ‘ceramah’ held at that particular mosque– Additional information pages– Extensive photo gallery

Malaysian Mosques - the book• Malaysian Mosques is the first book in the region which lists almost all the

existing mosques in Malaysia. It contains photographs, background information and addresses of the mosques categorized under their respective states and districts

• Selected mosques are highlighted in the book through their interior and exterior photographs

• Not only does it serve as a comprehensive directory of mosques, the book also contains general information about Malaysia and its respective states and federal territories

• A useful book for those who are generally interested in mosques and travellers who are visiting Malaysia

• It is also a collector’s item, for those who appreciate mosque architecture and its features

Sponsorship ProposalThe Malaysian Mosques book sponsorship:• Inclusion of your organisation’s own page in the book as the foreword by

the main sponsor of this project• We will organise, in collaboration with JAKIM and Majlis Agama Negeri, for a

copy of the book to be presented to the Ruler (Sultan) of all the States in Malaysia

• The book presentation will generate media coverage (if wanted) and give further exposure to your organisation as main sponsor to the project

• The publication will be marketed to related institutions such as the Ministry of Education (minimum 1 in every library), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (several copies per overseas consulate), Ministry of Tourism (to promote Islamic Tourism) etc.

Sponsorship ProposalFor Main Sponsor we are requesting for the following amount:• Online Sponsorship = RM 200 per mosque• Book Sponsorship = RM 150 per mosque• SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE COST = RM 350 per mosque

Based on 5,000 mosques which we have listed in www.mosques.com.my and inside

the book, the TOTAL SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE is RM 1.75M

This amount is needed for us to cover the:• Cost of creating and activating the individual mosques’ webpages• Cost of maintaining and further developing the portal• Cost of publishing Malaysian Mosques (1 copy per mosque)
