How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My Model

• I decided to use myself as my model for the media product. I decided to choose myself as the model, because is represent the genre I am doing well. I am into this kind of music and listen to it often, the artists I listen to are people like David Guetta, Diplo, Pete Tong and Calvin Harris. This means I am inspired and influenced by these artists. This is why I create my own music and mixes. The clothes they wear are jeans, hoodies, trainers, caps and just general going out gear. They do not have a stereotypical image that people think they are a Dj or like dance or house music.  

The Pictures• For the main photos on the front cover, contents page and double page spread someone else had to take the photos of me. However I had to describe to them how the shot should be taken. The body language I gave off was supposed to be serious, which shows on the pages. I did this to show how serious the industry is and how serious I am about the music. The pictures on the contents page shows me not looking at the camera, but an action shot and one of me looking into the distance. The action shot shows me in a music mix, this shows more depth into the field of work Djs do. The shot of me looking into the distance shows my thoughts, and people think that Djs are busy and have to think hard about their music. The final picture on my double page spread is black and white and shows me looking slightly off of the camera, this has made me look serious once again and also makes it slightly edgy, which is supposed to show in the music. 

Evidence

Mise en scene• The majority of my photos are set outside and I am in clothes that represent this genre of music. A jacket, cap and jeans, This shows I am representing my model as being part of the social group. The body language used in all of the photos, show the model as being relaxed, but most relaxed when playing the music. The facial expressions are all very serious and a smile is not presented I wanted the model to look like this, because it doesn't give anything away and Djs don't tend to. The props used was the music equipment and headphones, this is represented positively, because Djs are always shown as having lots of equipment.
