Focus groups

Focus groupsWe carried out two focus

groups one pre-production

and the other post production. From our pre-production

focus group of our plan of the

music video, me and my

partner we presented the

plan of the music video using

our case studies and images

to help illustrate what we

want in the final product.

We pitched our initial ideas

and the feedback we received where•Finding the right cast would be hard

as the initial idea would have

included a mother and a toddler.

•Our ideas where too optimistic and

complicated, i.e. the car crash scene

generated a lot of criticism on the way

we were going to edit and find the

props, as editing sounded

complicated and finding a car would

have been hard to find.

How we acted on our pre-production

feedback •We made the narrative more clear

and overcame the cast problem by

removing the initial scene with the

mother and the toddler. Also group

members acted to meet with

deadlines and problems with cast

turning up on time. •Finding props wasn’t as hard as we

thought it would be, we used group

members car and the plan of the car

scene was changed to help when

editing.

We also carried out a post-

production focus group•We received a very positive feedback, from

the focus group our narrative was clear and

understood by the targeted focus group.

•We received a positive feedback on the way

the car crash scene was edited and carried out.

•The camera angles and the shots were also

credited as well as particular scenes that the

focus group found interesting.

•Some negative feedback we received where

that some shots where shaking and we had a

slight problem with continuity. This was

because we didn’t use a tripod for most of our

shots and shots were shot on different days.
