• Quality Management basic data has to be created by core user of R&QA.
• Inspection Planning deals with QM Master data• Basic data in SAP R/3 QM module includes Material
master, Catalogs and code groups, selected sets, master inspection characteristics, Inspection methods and inspections plans etc.

transported to Quality & Production

End User Activities
• Quality Management transactional data has to be maintained by end user of R&QA.
• Inspection lot can be found in QA32 transaction and all central functions like result recording, defect recording and usage decision can be done as per inspection progress.

Advantages of SAP QM Implementation
• Master list of inspection plans for each material will be maintained so that inspection lot generation will be easier.
• Inspection results database will be maintained in SAP R/3 production server which is easy to track whole inspection process by material, lot and date wise etc.
• Able to record and track defects & trigger Quality Notifications.
• Further enhancements like digital signature for taking usage decision can be made possible.
