Overview of a typical process

The Trustee will also send the following documentationto Hansard:• completed Supplementary Application

for Trusts

• certifiedidentityandaddressverificationfortheclient

• original UPP Application form and Fund Advisor form, the latter to be countersigned by the Trustee (enabling the Broker to act as Fund Advisor)

• Hansard will establish the contract in the name of the QROPS, linked to the introducing Broker. The contract will then be viewable on Hansard OnLine.

The Client, with assistance from their Broker:• appoints the Trustee to manage the QROPS

• chooses a suitable product and product provider, e.g. a UPP from Hansard

• completes the relevant sections of a UPP application form

• appoints the Broker as a Fund Advisor to the policy, completing a Fund Advisor form.

In the meantime, the Client will provide their Broker with a letter of authority, authorising them to make initial contact with the transferring scheme provider

The Broker sends the completed UPP Application & Fund Advisor form to the Trustee along with the information received from the transferring pension scheme provider

On appointment, the Trustee can arrange the transfer of the Client’s existing qualifying pension to their own QROPS (this process can take 6-12 weeks), using the information collated by the Broker

When the pension transfer value is received, the Trustee will deduct their fees and send the balance proceeds (source of funds) along with the transfer confirmation letter received from the Regulated Pension Providers (source of wealth) to Hansard

Commission is generated and paid tothe Broker. Policy documentation is produced and issued in the name ofthe QROPS
