Welcome back for 2014 This week is the start of another year of karting at

the Gippsland Go Kart Club. To all new members welcome! We pride ourselves as a great friendly and strong club, one of the biggest in the state. There is always someone there to help so if this is your first meeting don’t be scared to ask questions as we have been there before. Good luck See you at the track. - Dean Watchorn Congratulations to the recipients of the Club’s Special Awards at the presentation dinner last December.

Gippsland Go Kart Club Inc. General Meeting. 11/02/2014 WELCOME BACK EVERYONE. The general meeting of the Gippsland Go-Karts was held at our Clubrooms on Tuesday

11th February, 2014 and was declared opened at 7.15pm by President Peter Aitken.

Present: Anita & Barry Stratton, Graeme & Jeanette Monds, Lorraine & Peter Aitken, Simon Pooley, Phil Lane, Tony Correa, Geoff Medew. Ross Miller, Luana Crampton. Russell Frost. Apologies: Cameron & Trevor Correa, Jason Crampton, Mick Alger, Alfi Prestipino. New Our club would like to welcome Riley Tolley and Ashleigh Collins to our karting family, and hope Members: that you enjoy your stay with us. Minutes The minutes from the last meeting were read by members present, Moved by Ross Miller and from last second by Geoff Medew that they be true and correct. Meeting. Treasurers Phil gave his report, the report was read by members present, and it was Moved by Graeme Monds Report: second by Simon Pooley. Phil gave a good report. And very informative. Thank you Phil for your report. Listed below are the fees for 2013, just a reminder for you, They are:- . Fees for 2014: Juniors $70.00. Seniors $85.00 and Families $105.00. Race fees 2014: Cadets & Rookies $25.00. Junior & Seniors $45.00. Second entry $20.00. Families $75.00. Definition of Family for racing: 2 Adults and children under 18 years, but when child/children reach the age of 18years they are no longer under the family price. As Phil said at the AGM. He will have to see how things go until February 2014, if there will be an increase. Phil would like to be able to retain the cost for entries the same as last year, to help everyone. Business Judge of Fact school. Which is being held at Gippsland track on 15th February, 2014, for all the Arising. volunteers that do the jobs in which they have to be Judge of Facts. They know who they are. Delegates The delegates report was given by Graeme Monds. From the meeting on 21st November, 2013. Report: State President: AKA MOU – Victoria has signed the MOU. State Steward Coordinator: 11-12/10/2013. Australian Master Games. Entries: 63 Geelong. 1 x Exclusion from section of event. 19-20/10/2013. Written Warning. 09-10/11/2013 Golden Power Rd. 5 Entries. 219 ELKC. 6 x Exclusion section of event. 1 x 10 Second penalty. 1 x Excluded from meeting & 3 months suspension. State Delegate: This position no longer exists – the executive commissioner to the AKAltd is to be the State President. Positions on the AKAltd can be put forward by states or individuals. VKA to put forward Sylvia Stania as State Stewards Coordinator. State Technical: Exhaust applications has been inspected for homologation. Kids in Karting – this has been put on hold by the AKAltd for the present time. State Track: Track inspections starting in the next couple of weeks. If clubs are not ready for the inspections please let the state office know asap. Discussions on the positions of the fire extinguishers. New AKA track Booklet to go out to the clubs. State Scrutineer: Kill switches to be looked into as this is starting to be a problem at race meeting. Rotax pro tour – grease in clutches checked – one found. Thank you Graeme for your report. Correspondence: Moved Graeme Monds and second by Russell Frost that the correspondence be accepted. General Business Another discussion was held, drivers wanting another lap board, so they can see them from the pit area. Luana Crampton: has sent an Email to a firm requesting a price on lap boards, in regard to the above line. Hopefully Luana will get an answer soon. Tony Correa: Regarding ex members keys. As he has seen people down here practicing, didn’t know who they were. When members leave they are requested to hand in their key and they will get a refund. MEMBERS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LOAN YOUR KEYS TO ANYONE. WE HAVE HAD MEMBERS DO THAT, AND MEMBERS FROM OTHER CLUBS HAVE COME TO PRACTICE ESPECIALLY BEFORE ONE OF OUR OPENS. THAT IS HOW WE LOOSE THE KEYS. THANK YOU. Geoff Medew: John Schena has been here to start on the trolley bay. John had to leave because of bush fires, so that he could help. Tony Correa is going to put the fencing up when the cement is poured. Russell Frost: Is going to get signs for the stewards room, for when they are having hearings, as people coming into the stewards room while it are in progress. Signs something like this: (Hearing in progress) Open/Closed. Anita: I know this is early, but bought up about 2014 Christmas break-up. Discussion was held, more

next meeting. Want to get a venue, not to leave it to the very end. and catering?? HELP: Parents we need some help in the canteen, especially on Sundays, Please think about it, even if it just for a couple of hours, it would be greatly appreciated. The canteen helps the club pay for things to be purchased, to make us better. If anyone wants to come and help just see Anita in the canteen. Thank You. Transponders: The price of transponders this year is $ 348.00. Don’t forget that we now have our own web page the address is. www.ggkc.org.au click onto it and see what is happening at our club. You can also download the newsletter from this web site. Thanks.

Members: If you want to renew your license, you have to do your member-

ship first. If you wish to race on a race weekend, and your license is due for renewal, you must have your license done with Lorraine by the Wednesday before the race meeting, as they have to have all information about your licence on the computer by late Wednesday night. For anymore information see Lorraine or give her a ring. Members remember to keep reading the Notice Board with all the new addendums, they will be of interest to driver and pit crew.
