Jaws 2

• The radio trailer that was produced for Jaws 2 was released in 1978.

• The trailer starts off with a deep male voice stating “The legend continues”. The fact that they used the word ‘legend’ implies that Jaws is a classic and traditional film.

Jaws 2

• When one of the characters scream out “There’s a shark”, the audience instantly are drawn into the advert because they want to know what the shark actually does.

• In addition to this the audience automatically understand that there is a dilemma, which connotes to them that this is definitely a sequel to the first Jaws film.

Jaws 2• In addition to this the audience hears the diagetic sound of

a woman screaming ‘Shark’ which is most likely withdrawn from one of the scenes in the film. The use of the woman screaming reinforces the idea that Jaws is a horror film.

• There is also the use of the diagetic sound of someone struggling to breathe under water, which increases the thrill factor of the film.

• The male voice of the advert concludes with the typical trailer ending dialogue; the name of the film, the release date and where you can purchase the tickets to watch the film.
