The StandOperaThe Opera stand is unique. It was designed from the ground up as an illuminated music stand. The advantagethis gives it is that every lamp is designed specifically to work with the music stand. The lamp is held at the rightdistance from the music tray, and yet is fully adjustable. The light output is carefully controlled so that it fallson the score and nowhere else. The cable is fully managed all the way down to the ground. Storage is providedfor excess cable. And the weight, rigidity and centre of gravity of the music stand are matched to the requirementsthat a music stand light imposes.

All Opera stand lights are interchangeable with oneanother and backward compatible with older Operastands. Just slacken the Allen key at the back of thetray, remove the old light, and fit the new one. As anoption, a thumb screw can be fitted to enable this tobe done without the need for an Allen key.

The LEDlight

The best lamp on any music stand, anywhere!Six of the latest high powered LEDs give very

bright and even illumination of the score with less

light spillage than any other light we know of. Thefinger-slim aluminium housing allows the musicianthe best possible view of the conductor.

Warm white LEDs with a colour temperature of3000K provide light which is relaxing for theprofessional musician yet make for easy reading ofyellowed scores, without the tiring effect of the morecommon cold white LEDs.

Mains voltage optionsAll the mains voltage lights above (Single HaloLight,Twin HaloLight, Mains voltage LEDlight) can beplugged directly into the mains sockets in the venue,and dimmed by dimming the mains supply. Operastand lights are fitted as standard with coiled cablereaching to floor level, and 3m of further straightcable terminating in a standard mains plug. IEC Daisychaining System

As an option, any of these lightscan be ordered with the IEC

daisychaining system. Itconnects adjacent standsusing standard IEC extensioncables. The IEC junction box

locks rigidly to the base of thestem, and is easily removed

when the stand is required withoutthe light. The hook at the base of the stem of theOpera stand helps to tidy the cables and locking IECcables ensure that the plugs cannot be accidentallypulled out by tripping over the flex.

Connection and control options for 24V LEDlights

The 24V LEDlight has the following advantages over the mains version:

Inherent safety of a low voltage supply

The great flexibility offered by a mixture of different power supplies; for example using battery power for outdoorevents or on stage, and connected supply for the orchestra pit.

It is possible to control each stand individually by DMX without having to have different electrical circuits.

The 24V LEDlight is fitted with a coiled cable descending to ground level where it terminates in a 3 pin XLRplug. All of the following options are available for connecting and controlling 24V LEDlights.

Plug top mains adaptor

A low cost solution for small numbers of stands

One adaptor is required for each light. Each adaptor plugsstraight into the mains supply. and comes with2m of cable terminating in an XLR socket.

The plug top adaptor cannot be dimmedby dimming the mains supply, but thisarrangement is compatible with radio control(see page 10) giving independent dimming

The transformer plugs straight into the mains, and has ashort output lead with a trailing XLR socket.

An XLR Daisychaining box locks to the base of each standand connects one stand to the next in a daisychain.

Up to 17 daisychained LEDlights can be powere by onetransformer.

Rechargeable batteries

Choice of removable battery packs giving 5 or 9hours of continuous light between charges. Highercapacity batteries can be made to order.

The NiMh batteries have higher capacity and longerlife than NiCad batteries.

Batteries can be recharged using the single fastcharger, or the charging station which charges up to10 batteries simultaneously.

Batteries are recharged in about half the time forwhich they have been used.

Ideal for use with radio control (see page 10) givingindependent control of every light.

The neatest and most rugged mains powered solution.

The RAT Radio system enables various types of electrical device to be controlled from the lighting desk asthough they were hard wired to it by DMX cables, but without the cables. One transmitter must be connectedto the lighting desk; there is no limit to the number of devices that can be controlled from one transmitter,provided they are within range of it. Additional transmitters can be deployed to increase the range of radiocoverage.

The system operates at a fixed frequency within the 2.4GHz band. Within this band a choice of frequenciesenables transmitters to be set at different frequencies from each other and from other equipment in the samevenue.

Radio DMX TransmitterCan be powered by its own built-in battery or froma supplied mains adaptor.

Has two operating modes: Local and DMX Control.

Local mode is ideal for use on location, or out of doors,where no lighting desk is available. All DMX channelsare controlled according to the brightness knob onthe transmitter, so no DMX input is required, andusing the built in battery enables the transmitter to betotally cordless.

DMX Control mode requires a DMX input signal, whichis then broadcast in its entirety. All DMX RadioReceivers will then be controlled according to theirset address.

Radio Controlled LEDlightThe RAT 24V LEDlight and LEDclip light can be fitted withbuilt in RAT Radio receivers. This enables them to beindividually controlled from the lighting desk exactly as ifthey were hard wired to it via a dimmer.

Three position switch enables the radio control to beoverridden to ON or OFF.

Each stand can be given its own unique address or canshare its address with any number of stands in a group.

Radio control gives equispaced control of the light outputfrom fully off to fully on in 255 steps.

The battery condition monitor shows when the battery isnearly exhausted, and in this condition limits light brightnessto 30% in order to extend the available working time of thebattery.

Radio Controlled DC SocketThe Radio Controlled DC Socket comprises a compact anddurable box fitted with a 3 pin XLR socket outlet and atrailing lead with a 3 pin XLR plug. When the plug isconnected to any DC power supply (such as RATs standard24V battery pack) the socket outlet becomes a radiocontrolled variable voltage socket. The effective voltage isdetermined by the DMX level set at the lighting desk andsent wirelessly via the Radio DMX Transmitter.

The three position switch enables the radio control to beoverridden to ON or OFF.

Each pack can be given its own unique address or canshare its address with any number of receivers in a group.

The radio gives pulse width modulated control of the outputfrom the socket in 255 steps from fully off to fully on.

DMX Radio Bridge receiverThe Radio DMX Bridge Receiver comprises a compact anddurable box fitted with a 5 pin XLR socket. A classic stand designed in contemporary style, the Concert stands combination of slender metal stem andnatural wood tray perfectly complements the appearance of a modern or historic concert hall. The tray is formedin one piece from natural birch and lacquered to the colour of beech. Trays can be custom stained to match yourconcert hall.

The GigLight is the perfect partner to the Scherzostand. Designed from the start as a music light, theGigLight does actually light a whole score (unlikelights derived from book reading lights, which do nothave a big enough reach). The 4 supplied AA batterieswill power the light for over 8 hours, and the GigLightcan also operate from the optional mains adaptor.

The high powered LED light source has a rated lifeof 50,000 hours, and is impervious to shocks.

The Super GigLight has an even brighter LED.

The Concert Conductors stand is ideal forperformances in lit venues, using all but the largestscores. Its design matches that of the Concert standdescribed on page 7.

The tray has a double lip with a foam rubber linedarea for pencils and batons.

The tray is formed in one piece from natural birchand lacquered to the colour of beech.

The stem is coated in tough scratch resistant epoxy,and the base is coated in nylon for ultimate durability.

The base is made from solid steel for extra stability.

The Opera conductors stand has a tray large enoughfor the biggest opera score. Its elegant, minimalistdesign and very slim lamp ensure that the musiciansget the best possible view of the conductor.

The lamp can be removed if not required. And itspowerful light is carefully controlled to avoid dazzlingthe audience.

The whole stand is nylon coated for ultimate durability.

This stand is designed for semi-permanent installationin the orchestra pit of large opera houses.

The tray width is adjustable.

The lights are adjustable for height, reach and angle.

The very slim LEDlights give the musicians anuninterrupted view of the conductor.

The extra lights at the sides of the tray give evenand very bright illumination of the score. Light reflectedoff the white tray also helps to illuminate the maestro.

Electric height adjustment puts control at themaestros fingertips. A digital display shows the currentheight, and up to 6 heights can be stored in memory.

Stage3

Corner jointsMost staging systems have mitred joints at theircorners, giving rise to dangerously sharp edges.Stage 3 has diecast corners which are strong, roundedand user friendly.

SpeedlocksPlatforms are easily locked together by turning a keywhich is inserted into the top of the stage. There isno more scrabbling around underneath it. Turningthe key levels the platforms and pulls them togetherin one continuous movement. When not in use thelocks retract out of harms way.

Very strongThe aluminium frame and diecast corners give it lowweight and incredible strength.

LegsStage 3 platforms use round legs, which are rigidlylocked into position by a flick of the integral quickaction lever. The legs are the same size as standardscaffold tube so if you are caught short one day, orneed an odd length of leg, the material is commonlyavailable.

Fast to put up, easy to use and quick to dismantle.Lots of staging claims to be fast, but we really dobelieve that you will not find any system that can beput up and taken down more easily and quickly thanStage3.

SkirtsSkirts attach to the side of thestaging system using hangerswhich lock into the T slot.When no skirting is requiredthe hangers are removed sono unsightly Velcro remains.

RampsRamp connectors enable anytop to be made into a ramp,which can be connected tothe stage at any point.

Fixed stairsStairs with fixed numbers oftreads are ideal for users whoregularly set the staging atone given height. The foot ofthe staircase is adjustable todifferent stage heights withina range.

Modular stairsSingle stair treads interlockto form a staircase of anyheight. The assembledstaircase then clamps quicklyto the edge of the platform,at any position around theperiphery. Riser heights areindividually adjustable so thatevery riser in a flight can beset equal. When dismantled,individual steps interlock for

compact storage. Handrailsare available separately.

Leg ClampsLeg clamps enable stages ofunequal heights to be lockedtogether.

CastorsJust remove the legs from aplatform and replace them withcastors to make a trolley whichcan support 14 more platforms.
