message FROM THE PRESIDENT

1 | robertsbrothers.com

As we celebrate our 67th year in the real estate busi-ness, I am reminded each day of the significance of such an accomplishment. It is clear that the same sacri-fice and commitment that achieved this milestone is also the reason Roberts

Brothers continues to lead the market today.

Our competitive advantage lies in the fact that our leadership team and 250 sales associates and staff have preserved the most recognizable real estate brand in South Alabama and engrained profes-sionalism and integrity into our company culture. These, and other core values, are demonstrated at each of our four office locations each and every day.

As our industry continues to adapt, we look for-ward to continuing to embrace change and explor-ing new ways of achieving our ultimate goal: to provide an exceptional home buying and selling experience for our customers.

On behalf of our team, I welcome you to Mobile Bay. I invite you to look over our Relocation Guide and visit our website RobertsBrothers.com. We look forward to serving you for the next 67 years!

Sincerely,

welcome to MOBILE

Mobile’s strategic location and tremendous in-frastructure – two interstate systems, two airports, proximity to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and five major railroads – make it a hot center for business. Its superb quality of life, diverse cultural and recreational activities, low cost of living, close

distance to the beach and the temperate climate attract many newcomers and visitors every year. Many exciting things are happening in Mobile that will continue to attract residents and businesses to this progressive part of the Southeastern U.S. We are very proud to be a part of Mobile’s success!

why life is so good on MOBILE BAY

Though it bears some striking similarities to New Orleans, Mobile dances to its own beat, which is just the way Mobilians like it.

The city lies at the head of Mobile Bay on the shank end of the second-largest river delta system in the nation, a spiderweb watershed that reaches almost the length of the state before flowing into the Mobile River. That meant that from the 1830s till near the turn of the twentieth century, Mobile received the abundance of some of the finest cotton-growing land in the United States—maybe in the whole world—which is what really

got the place going. Not only that, we started the first Mardi Gras in North America, too

I say “we” because I am a Mobilian (Mo-beel-ien), even though I now live across the bay on what is called the Eastern Shore. I’ve lived in Washington, D.C., and in New York, but I was a Mobilian then, too. It’s hard to shake when you’re raised in one of the old Southern coastal cities—like New Orleans, Mobile, Savannah, or Charleston—that had been thriving for a hundred years while the rest of the state wasn’t much other than woods and wild Indians.

When I was growing up, downtown Mobile was a vibrant hive of department stores, restaurants, theaters, office buildings, and bumper-to-bumper traffic in the narrow streets leading to the water. There were band concerts beneath the oaks in Bienville Square and opulent lunches at the old Battle House hotel, which had hosted presidents among its notable list of guests. Constantine’s, with its tiled floors and mirrored walls, rivaled if not exceeded the fabled Galatoire’s in the French Quarter—in food as well as decor.

mobile WELCOMES AIRBUS

As Airbus Lands, Mobile Is Ready for Take-OffJULY 2 , 2012 | BY: CECEL IA REDMON | WWW.EXAMINER.COMhttp://www.examiner.com/article/as-airbus-lands-mobile-is-ready-for-take-off

Airbus announced their commitment to the City of Mobile and the State of Alabama today before a crowd of over 1,000 people. Media representatives from all over the world were poised with cameras and laptops to share the great news of Airbus choosing Mobile for their U.S. assembly plant.

Chief Executive Officer Fabrice Bregier compared the event of Airbus landing their assembly plant in Mobile to the Declaration of Independence. “I recently learned that the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2nd, not on the fourth. Here is another historic moment on July 2nd 236 years later.”

Bregier commented that to have an assembly plant in the U.S. was the natural next step. Airbus already does business with over 100 suppliers in Wichita, Kansas, Melbourne, Florida and Mobile. According to Bresier, Airbus already generates over 14 billion U.S. dollars in the U.S.A., and has created over 250 thousand jobs and partners with business in over 40 states. To name a couple are B.F. Goodrich and Honeywell in Faulker, Maryland.

Construction on the facility starts in 2013 and according to Mayor Sam Jones, “this will bring in about 3,200 construction related jobs.” He added “When airbus lands we are prepared to takeoff with our commitment.”

Team Mobile has been working to bring the assembly plant to Mobile for more than seven years

County Commissioner Connie Hudson noted that there are many historical ties connected to the event. She told

of another historical July 2nd other than the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and that was when Azaleas were introduced to Mobile as a gift from Toulouse, France and today we welcome Airbus from Toulouse.

Hudson said the Mobile Team Airbus had a code name for their efforts, which was Hope. “Today that hope becomes a reality,” she announced.

Many other state, city and company officials spoke and announced “What a great day for Mobile and the state of Alabama.”

Once completion of the facility arrives in 2015 the first A320 will roll off the assembly line in 2016. Airbus anticipates that they will be producing 40 to 50 aircraft a year in the A300 family of single isle planes. Once fully operational there will be over 1,000 full-time well paid employees.

After the event, Chris King of Roberts Brothers Realty said, “This will bring in money and people and boost the economy. The new people coming into the city as staff and crew will turn into buyers of real estate. We will definitely see an increase in sales and need for new and existing homes.”

Former District Attorney John Tyson said, “This may be the best thing that has happened to Mobile since the days of Iberville and Bienville.” It was Iberville and Bienville the French explorers who found Mobile Bay in January of 1699, and later established the current day city of Mobile. Tyson added, “This is going to have world wide impact.”

welcome to DAPHNE

Daphne is located in Baldwin County, Alabama, on the eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay, just off I-10.

Located 11 miles east of Mobile, Daphne is conveniently located on the Eastern Shore. With the City

population approximately 19,356 and growing, Daphne is the largest city in Baldwin County, with more

than 3,500 students attending schools. Over the past few years, Daphne’s population has increased by 30%.

Despite the rapid growth, Daphne has been able to maintain the ambience of a small town where the

people are friendly and caring, and newcomers soon become good friends.

Daphne is perhaps most famous for being one of the few places in the world to experience the phenomenon

known as a “Jubilee”. This event brings blue crabs, shrimp and fish into the shallow waters of the shoreline,

just waiting to be scooped up by those waiting to fill their ice chests. Thus giving Daphne the title “The

Jubilee City.”
