Project Chance Africa

• Installation of a potable water system in Mathere slums, Nairobi, Kenya

• Mathere slums population 800,000

• 90% unemployed, live on less than $1/day

• PCA built a 5-storey primary school – 410 children

• Opened a clinic in the school in 2011

• Distribution of special oatmeal and food

Uganda Global Grant Project

• Economic empowerment of people with disabilities in Kasese District

• Provide assistive devices such as wheelchairs, tricycles, crutches, calipers, and surgical boots etc.

• Training in production of assistive devices including repair and training in metal fabrication

• Training in poultry farming and vegetable production with emphasis on women and girls.

• Financial literacy training including basic bookkeeping

• Mental rehabilitation training

• Local partner: Rotary Club of Kasese

Potable Water Systems at Primary Schools in Rural Kenya

• Lifelong mission of Rotarian Bea Osome and her husband Ben

• Managed, onsite, successful installation of water systems in 18 schools between 2007 and 2019

• The latest system inaugurated at Madzuu Primary School in VihigaCounty

• Objective to build 20 such systems before retiring

• Application for a District Simplified Grant submitted for 19th water system at VohovolePrimary School in Vihiga County

Heart of Africa Project CanaanTo contribute to expenditure for equipment to maintain basic infrastructure and hygiene programs at Project Canaan, Eswatini (former Swaziland), Africa

RC Central Port of SpainTo support “Adopt a School Program” by contributing to upgrading of library, painting and repairs of washroom facilities and installation of a joint Rotary sign.

KIDZAID TrustTo contribute to assist AIDS orphans, vulnerable children and their caregivers in Kwazulu/Natal, South Africa
