Todomuta Studio surge cuando las trayectorias artísticas de Laura y Sergio confluyeron en un choque no violento y formaron entre ambos algo que iba más allá de cada uno. Algo casi indefinible porque se encuentra desde entonces en constante cambio, una búsqueda incansable de nuevas formas y miradas que orbitan alrededor del diseño y el arte, explorando sus fronteras. Un discurso reconocible por su singularidad, pero sin leyes estáticas.
Todomuta was born when Laura and Sergio’s artistic trajectories converged in a non-violent collision and became something together that went beyond each one of them on their own. Something that is almost impossible to define as, since then, they have been in constant change, a tireless search for new forms and gazes that orbit around art and design, exploring its frontiers. A discourse that is recognisable for its singularity, but lacking in static laws.

Toda vida se sustenta en el cúmulo de materiales diversos: Una suma en constante equilibrio como resultado de una travesía biológica. Ésta es la premisa con que Todomuta crea la serie Re-Collectors.
Frente a lo monolítico, capaz de aspirar a la perfección sin fisuras y a la respuesta creativa rotunda, sin inicio ni final, en este caso se propone la fragmentación como principio evolutivo de construcción. Lo fragmentario, al poseer la complejidad lógica de la Naturaleza, humaniza el objeto al mismo tiempo que le articula múltiples alternativas de desarrollo.
All life is sustained by the accumulation of diverse materials: a sum that is in constant equilibrium as a result of a biological voyage. This is the premise from which Todomuta Studio has created the Re-collectors series.
Faced by that which is monolithic, capable of aspiring to perfection without fissures, and the rotund creative response, with no beginning or end, this proposal is based on fragmentation as an evolutionary principle of construction. What is fragmentary, because it possesses Nature’s logical complexity, humanises the object itself whilst at the same time articulating its multiple development alternatives.

Y frente a la perfección, aquí se elige la imperfección, entendida como proceso no acabado: la idea del objeto en incesante crecimiento, capaz de generar nuevas posibilidades a partir de una raíz común. El objeto no queda aislado en sí, sino que, por su morfología evidente, forma parte de una especie con atributos comunes. Entre tales atributos, se encuentra el sueño de la dinámica. La idea de un imposible: Evocar el movimiento en lo pétreo.
Se invita al espectador a un juego imaginativo en el que se difuminan las escalas. Las dimensiones reales no importan, lo esencial es la sugerencia de otras proporciones. De ahí su más claro vínculo con la arquitectura, en el que el objeto pasa a ser una muestra de ensoñación constructiva. Alzado, tensiones, equilibrio, masas y geometrías simuladas componen y erigen la propuesta de un edificio que no lo es, pero puede serlo.
And in the face of perfection, we choose imperfection, understood as an unfinished process: the idea of the object experiencing incessant growth, capable of generating new possibilities from a common root. The object is not isolated in itself, instead, as a result of its evident morphology, it becomes part of a species with common attributes. Among such attributes is the dream of dynamics. An impossible idea:to evoke movement in rock.
The spectator is invited to an imaginative game in which the scales are blurred. Real dimensions are unimportant, what is essential is the suggestion of other proportions. Hence its most clear bond with architecture, where the object becomes a sample of a constructive dream state. Elevation, tensions, equilibrium, masses and simulated geometries comprise and raise the proposal for a building that is not, but could be.

The prominence of the structure exposes its skeleton, and combines the elements in a light and floating choreography; a mechanic that aspires to integrate the organic in its essence at any given time. This same levity hides connections and unions, thus providing a sensation that each piece is supported naturally, without obligation or force. As if declaring their destiny in space.
Once more, the required duality and contrast confirm their fruit. Against a possible estrangement caused by metallic, polished and cold surfaces, the illusion of movement, that which is fragmentary and imperfection avoid any glimmer of dehumanization. And they suggest, beyond its seemingly stark form, the principle of uncertainty that governs all that is human. The spectator contemplates the piece and experiences the disquiet of an unpredictable future.
El protagonismo de la estructura expone su esqueleto, y conjuga los elementos en una coreografía ligera, flotante; una mecánica que aspira en todo momento a integrar lo orgánico en su esencia. Esa misma levedad oculta engarces y uniones, proporcionando así la sensación de que cada pieza se apoya de manera natural, sin obligación ni forzamiento. Como si afirmasen su destino en el espacio.
Una vez más la necesaria dualidad y contraste confirman su fruto. Contra el posible distanciamiento motivado por las superficies metálicas, pulidas y frías, la ilusión de movimiento, lo fragmentario y la imperfección evitan cualquier atisbo de deshumanización. Y dejan intuir, más allá de la forma aparentemente descarnada, el principio de incertidumbre que gobierna todo lo humano. Uno contempla la pieza y experimenta la inquietud de un futuro impredecible.
