Emphasizing a point in The Way to God in French. >> S PEOPLE COME TO CHRIST throughout Africa, the need for New Testaments mush- rooms. WMP’s national coordinator in Central African Republic wrote, “We are delighted to report the increased enthusiasm among many of our distribu- tors using the Arabic New Testament. Many Muslim communities are being impacted by this powerful tool.” Brother Edet was eager to explain his need for 500 boxes of French New Testaments (14,000 copies): “Chad will be getting 50-70 cartons; northern Dem- ocratic Republic of Congo will receive 100. “Due to the difficulty of transporting boxes to the North from Kinshasa, Bangui has been playing the role of sending New Testaments and booklets to the smaller towns and villages through the church-plant- ing initiative. Last year we planted 51 churches in this region of central Africa. Last year our min- istry alone recorded 25,000 new decisions. Many of these were discipled, but could not get a copy of the French New Testa- ment because they were all dis- tributed to other ministries. Through our encouragement, many churches are getting in- volved with discipleship of con- verts, and the New Testament is a valuable tool.” The French New Testa- ment printed by World Missionary Press includes a 38-page Basic Bible Study supplement, with topics and references compiled by Watson Goodman. It is ideal for discipling new believers and costs about 96 cents to produce. Word came from Craig Hanscome in June that the stock in Mali was becoming very limited. As Every Home for Christ in Mali was requesting 968 boxes of Scripture booklets, planning began to produce a 20- foot container to provide the booklets for EHC as well as 1,600 boxes (French, Bambara, Boomu, and Ara- bic) for general distribution by WMP’s national coor- dinator, Brother Jean Pierre, who had communicated the tremendous needs of the Malian people for the gospel. In the meantime, Brother Craig reported that a container going to Mali from Omaha, Nebraska, this summer would have room on it for 130 ten-pound boxes of litera- ture. Did World Missionary Press have enough in inventory to send a pallet of boxes for use at their hospital right away? Yes, we did. Boxes of various titles in French, Bambara, and Arabic (including French and Arabic New Testaments) were rounded up and shipped to Omaha. “I wish to inform you that the booklets don’t remain much. By September, we will have exhausted all the remaining booklets.” New Testaments are much needed in French-speaking countries of Africa. Printing for these French-speaking nations in Africa will include Scripture booklets, Bible study booklets, salvation coloring books, and New Testaments in French as well as Scripture booklets in many African languages spoken in these countries. Freight shipments will include four 40-foot containers and six 20-foot containers. *20-foot container already shipped Printing French Scriptures for Major Shipments to: Benin Burkina Faso Cameroon* Central African Republic Chad Congo Republic Côte d’Ivoire Democratic Rep. of Congo Gabon Guinea Mali Niger Senegal Togo (continued on next page) A

In August, an urgent e-mail came from Ivory Coast(Côte d’Ivoire). “I have just received through the postoffice your mail containing a lot of letters from IvoryCoast requiring booklets. We will contact all, [but] Iwish to inform you that the booklets don’t remainmuch. By September, we will have exhausted all the re-maining booklets. I would like to ask you to schedule,

if it is possible, a new shipment of booklets to IvoryCoast. As you can see, the requests are very high. Many evangelists in Côte d’Ivoire don’t feel com-fortable to go for evangelism without any booklet ofWMP.” At that time we hadn’t even scheduled anothershipment for our national coordinator in Côte d’Ivoire, because they had most recently received a container! But since a shipment was already scheduled for EveryHome for Christ in Côte d’Ivoire later in the year, planschanged to send a 40-foot container instead, whichcould include supplies for both.

Brother Pierre, of Centre de Publications Evan-geliques (CPE), serving as WMP’s national coordina-

tor, responded with gratefulness. “We pray in CPE forthe Lord to empower each booklet of WMP to impactour nation for His glory.”

In the meantime, ministries eager to distribute God’sWord in their nations, await their turn. This week wereceived this e-mail: “EHC Chad is waiting patientlyhis shipment of literature, and we hope it be soon.”

This week we received this e-mail:“EHC Chad is waiting patiently hisshipment of literature, and we hope itbe soon.”

Please cry out to God with us that He will provide forincreased production soon. We praise God for allowingus to increase production to a volume of 7,000,000 permonth for several months this year. The need is for con-sistent production far above 5,000,000 per month. Weare believing God to bring us to 9,000,000 per month. That is the urgent need.

[Each $100 donation provides for the printing andshipping of 2,500 Scripture booklets the size of Help

From Above; $20 provides for 500 booklets full of thepowerful Word of God in the languages of the people. As production increases above 5,000,000 a month, thecost for paper and shipping is only $25,000 for eachadditional million Scripture booklets.]

How awesome to share

God’s Word in someone’s

own language!

Project Updates

Another 100,000 French New Testaments need to be printed for including in shipments to 14

French-speaking African nations. Each costs about 96 cents to print and ship, on average.

World Missionary Press is receiving many more letters from Cuba requesting Scripture

booklets. These letters are hand-delivered to a contact in Cuba who can respond to them. A 40-

foot container recently left Canada with 1,081,288 Spanish Scripture booklets from WMP and

10,000 Spanish Bibles supplied by the Canadian Bible Society.

WMP’s national coordinator, India Bible Literature, received a 40-foot container the last week

of September. When Brother Velu last visited WMP, he pleaded for one container each monthfor India’s 1.2 billion people. Another container is urgently needed.

A container shipment prepared for South Sudan—on its way to the port of Mombasa, Kenya—

will then still need to travel overland through Kenya and Uganda to reach South Sudan.
