-Rebellion or Relationship? Last week we talked about great changes we are allfacing, so to set up our discussion today and where Ibelieve YHWH is leading us I must repeat:

There is a harsh reality of great change facing PlanetEarth, which forces decisions and great soul searchingon each of us who claim and have the hope that comesbecause we know Him. So it is imperative that you and Iare aware of and constantly reminded of who we are.

YOU, Loved One, are His Treasure!. We must beworshippers even in the stormy (even catastrophic) timesahead. Continuing His message-Hopelessness can only

come when we fail to remember we are His Treasure! The times ahead will reveal what we are made of. As the pressure increases to mold us into precious stones without blemish we must turn to Him in greater intensity or wewill despair with less and less hope (hopelessness) and our hope is the very foundation of our faith. This is thetrap our King wants us to avoid! Okay, maybe that was overkill, but it was a prerequisitefor what is of vast import to each of us. Most of you willagree that religion is all about duty and how thingsappear to others…but YHWH wants us in arelationship… and Yahshua came and paid the pricefor an intimate relationship! Duty is religion and profitsnothing! Religion is about appearing righteous to others

but the spirit or heart of the person has never beenhumble and submitted in willing obedience to life givingchange. (Matthew 23:23) "Woe to you, scribes andPharisees, you hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dilland cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisionsof the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but theseare the things you should have done without neglectingthe others. (Matthew 23:24) "You blind guides, whostrain out a gnat and swallow a camel! (Matthew 23:25) "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! Foryou clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, butinside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.(Matthew 23:26) "You blind Pharisee, first clean the

inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of itmay become clean also. (Matthew 23:27) "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like

whitewashed tombs which on the outside appearbeautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bonesand all uncleanness. (Matthew 23:28) "So you, too, outwardly appearrighteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisyand lawlessness. (Matthew 23:29) "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophetsand adorn the monuments of the righteous, (Matthew23:30) and say, 'If we had been living in the days of ourfathers, we would not have been partners with them in

shedding the blood of the prophets.' (Mat 23:31) "Soyou testify against yourselves, that you are sons of those

who murdered the prophets. (Matthew 23:32) "Fill up,then, the measure of the guilt of your fathers.

Yahshua was concerned and questioned how they (Thereligious) could escape hell! (Matthew 23:33) "You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?

Relationships are everywhere. We all have them; therelationship of a brother-sister, parent-child, employer-employee, grandparent-grandchildren, husband-wife,

Let’s do reason these thoughts through. If we are in

relationships and want them to work properly, we willhave to follow the Makers’ instructions! If we will notsubmit to His words, (Whether we are a child, parent, husband, wife, brother, sister part of any relationship)we can expect our relationships to be less than peaceful, less than we have hoped for, and certainly less than ourCreator has paid for and desires for us. Of course, wecan choose to rebel, be stubborn hearted, prideful andthe like and be like our Torah reading today showsKorah doing, but we should expect his results. I think the following verses remind us we must not give room tothe devil and expect heavenly results!

(1Peter 5:6) Therefore humble yourselves under themighty hand of YHWH, that He may exalt you at the

proper time, (1Peter 5:7) casting all your anxiety (caresand worries) on Him, because He cares for you. (1Peter5:8) Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seekingsomeone to devour. (Comment: notice it is our decisionand lack of humility or humbling obedience that allowsha-satan to attack us- it is permissive or based on our disobedience which allows the attack -Note tworequirements placed on us by Yahshua, 1; have or receive

His commandments, and 2; do them!) (John 14:21) "Hewho has my commandments and keeps them is the onewho loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by myFather, and I will love him and will disclose myself to

Page 7: Rebellion or Relationship

him." (John 14:22) Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him,"Yahshua, what then has happened that you are goingto disclose yourself to us and not to the world?" (John

14:23) Yahshua answered and said to him, "If anyoneloves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will lovehim, and we will come to him and make our abode withhim.

Let’s see a few relationships and what YHWH’s word instructs (These are not based on our world’s culturestoday and may not be easy to make changes- but will bring YHWH’s blessings!) HUSBANDS TO WIVES (Ephesians 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, just as Messiah also loved the churchand gave Himself up for her, (Ephesians 5:26) so thatHe might sanctify her, having cleansed her by thewashing of water with the word, (Ephesians 5:27) that

He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but thatshe would be holy and blameless. (Ephesians 5:28) So husbands ought also to love theirown wives as their own bodies. He who loves his ownwife loves himself; (Ephesians 5:29) for no one everhated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, justas Messiah also does the church, (Ephesians 5:30)because we are members of His body. (Colossians 3:19) Husbands love your wives and do notbe embittered against them.

Page 8: Rebellion or Relationship

(1Peter 3:7) You husbands in the same way live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someoneweaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a

fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers willnot be hindered. (1Peter 3:8) To sum up, all of you beharmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, andhumble in spirit; (1Peter 3:9) not returning evil for evilor insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for youwere called for the very purpose that you might inherita blessing. CHILDREN TO PARENTS(Colossians 3:20) Children, be obedient to your parentsin all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord (Ephesians 6:1) Children, obey your parents in theLord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:2) HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first

commandment with a promise), (Ephesians 6:3) SOTHAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THATYOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH. (Matthew 19:19) HONOR YOUR FATHER ANDMOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." PARENTS TO CHILDREN(Ephesians 6:4) Fathers, do not provoke your childrento anger, but bring them up in the discipline andinstruction (TORAH) of YHWH.

(Colossians 3:21) Fathers, do not exasperate yourchildren, so that they will not lose heart.

WIVES TO HUSBANDS (Ephesians 5:22) Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to Yahshua.(Ephesians 5:23) The husband is the head of the wife,as Messiah also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. (Ephesians 5:24) But asthe assembly is subject to Messiah, so also the wivesought to be to their husbands in everything. (Colossians 3:18) Wives, be subject to your husbands,as is fitting in the Lord.(1Peter 3:1) In the same way, you wives, be submissiveto your own husbands so that even if any of them aredisobedient to the word, they may be won without aword by the behavior of their wives, (1Peter 3:2) as theyobserve your chaste and respectful behavior.

(Ephesians 5:33) Nevertheless, each individual amongyou also is to love his own wife even as himself, and thewife must see to it that she respects her husband. Walk like Yahshua walked?(1John 2:3) By this we know that we have come toknow Him, if we keep His commandments. (1John 2:4) The one who says, "I have come to know Him," anddoes not keep His commandments, is a liar, and thetruth is not in him; (1John 2:5) but whoever keeps Hisword, in him the love of YHWH has truly beenperfected. By this we know that we are in Him: (1John

2:6) the one who says he abides in Him ought himself towalk in the same manner as He walked.

Let’s pick up where we were in last week’s study! YIKES!We should each make sure our hearts are humble, willing to obey, and not defiant against YHWH’s word. (Numbers 15:27) 'Also if one person sinsunintentionally, then he shall offer a one year old femalegoat for a sin offering. (Numbers 15:28) 'The priestshall make atonement before YHWH for the personwho goes astray when he sins unintentionally; makingatonement for him that he may be forgiven. (Numbers15:29) 'You shall have one law for him who doesanything unintentionally, for him who is native amongthe sons of Israel and for the alien who sojourns amongthem.

(Numbers 15:30) 'But the person who does anything defiantly, whether he is native or an alien, that one isblaspheming YHWH; and that person shall be cut off from among his people. (Numbers 15:31) 'Because hehas despised the word of YHWH and has broken Hiscommandment, that person shall be completely cut off;his guilt will be on him.'"

How does the blood of Yahshua cover intentional transgressing the Torah? (1John 3:4) everyone whopractices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin islawlessness (Torahlessness).

(Hebrews 10:26) For if we go on sinning willfully afterreceiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longerremains a sacrifice for sins, (Hebrews 10:27) but a

terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OFA FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THEADVERSARIES. (Hebrews 10:28) Anyone who has setaside the Law of Moses (Torah/Law) dies without mercyon the testimony of two or three witnesses. (Hebrews10:29) How much more severe punishment do youthink he will deserve who has trampled underfoot theSon of YHWH, and has regarded as unclean the bloodof the covenant by which he was sanctified, and hasinsulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:30) For weknow Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILLREPAY." And again, "YHWH WILL JUDGE HISPEOPLE." (Hebrews 10:31) It is a terrifying thing tofall into the hands of the living Elohim.

Here are this week’s Torah Scriptures: Korah Numbers 16:1- 18:32; 1 Samuel 11:14- 12:22;1 Thessalonians Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (Numbers 16:1) Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, thesons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took action, (Numbers 16:2) and they rose up beforeMoses, together with some of the sons of Israel, twohundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, chosen inthe assembly, men of renown. (Numbers 16:3) Theyassembled together against Moses and Aaron, and said

to them, "You have gone far enough, for all thecongregation are holy, every one of them, and YHWH isin their midst; so why do you exalt yourselves above the

assembly of YHWH?" Note the humility of a real “leader”! Called out “leaders” are not boastful and prideful- Mostly those types of leaders called themselves! (Numbers 16:4) When Moses heard this, he fell on hisface; (Numbers 16:5) and he spoke to Korah and all hiscompany, saying, "Tomorrow morning YHWH willshow who is His, and who is holy, and will bring himnear to Himself; even the one whom He will choose, Hewill bring near to Himself. (Numbers 16:6) "Do this: take censers for yourselves,Korah and all your company, (Numbers 16:7) and put

fire in them, and lay incense upon them in the presenceof YHWH tomorrow; and the man whom YHWHchooses shall be the one who is holy. You have gone farenough, you sons of Levi!" (Numbers 16:8) Then Mosessaid to Korah, "Hear now, you sons of Levi, (Numbers16:9) is it not enough for you that the Elohim of Israelhas separated you from the rest of the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of YHWH, and to stand before thecongregation to minister to them; (Numbers 16:10) andthat He has brought you near, Korah, and all yourbrothers, sons of Levi, with you? And are you seekingfor the priesthood also?

(Numbers 16:11) "Therefore you and all your companyare gathered together against YHWH; but as for Aaron,

who is he that you grumble against him?" (Numbers16:12) Then Moses sent a summons to Dathan andAbiram, the sons of Eliab; but they said, "We will notcome up. (Numbers 16:13) "Is it not enough that youhave brought us up out of a land flowing with milk andhoney to have us die in the wilderness, but you wouldalso lord it over us? (Numbers 16:14) "Indeed, youhave not brought us into a land flowing with milk andhoney, nor have you given us an inheritance of fieldsand vineyards. Would you put out the eyes of thesemen? We will not come up!" (Numbers 16:15) Then Moses became very angry andsaid to YHWH, "Do not regard their offering! I havenot taken a single donkey from them, nor have I done

harm to any of them." (Numbers 16:16) Moses said toKorah, "You and all your company be present beforeYHWH tomorrow, both you and they along with Aaron.(Numbers 16:17) "Each of you takes his fire pan andput incense on it, and each of you bring his censerbefore YHWH, two hundred and fifty fire pans; alsoyou and Aaron shall each bring his fire pan." (Numbers16:18) So they each took his own censer and put fire onit, and laid incense on it; and they stood at the doorwayof the tent of meeting, with Moses and Aaron. (Numbers16:19) Thus Korah assembled the entire congregationagainst them at the doorway of the tent of meeting. Andthe glory of YHWH appeared to the entire

sent me. (Numbers 16:30) "But if YHWH brings aboutan entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouthand swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they

descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand thatthese men have spurned YHWH."

Judgment is guaranteed payment for rebellion against YHWH’s Word! (Numbers 16:31) As he finished speaking all thesewords, the ground that was under them split open;(Numbers 16:32) and the earth opened its mouth andswallowed them up, and their households, and all themen who belonged to Korah with their possessions.(Numbers 16:33) So they and all that belonged to themwent down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed overthem, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.(Numbers 16:34) All Israel who were around them fled

at their outcry, for they said, "The earth may swallowus up!" (Numbers 16:35) Fire also came forth fromYHWH and consumed the two hundred and fifty menwho were offering the incense. (Numbers 16:36) Then YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,

(Numbers 16:37) "Say to Eleazar, the son of Aaron thepriest that he shall take up the censers out of the midstof the blaze, for they are holy; and you scatter theburning coals abroad. (Numbers 16:38) "As for thecensers of these men who have sinned at the cost of theirlives, let them be made into hammered sheets for aplating of the altar, since they did present them before

YHWH and they are holy; and they shall be for a signto the sons of Israel." (Numbers 16:39) So Eleazar thepriest took the bronze censers which the men who were

burned had offered, and they hammered them out asplating for the altar, (Numbers 16:40) as a reminder tothe sons of Israel that no layman who is not of thedescendants of Aaron should come near to burn incensebefore YHWH; so that he will not become like Korahand his company--just as YHWH had spoken to himthrough Moses. (Numbers 16:41) But on the next dayall the congregation of the sons of Israel grumbledagainst Moses and Aaron, saying, "You are the oneswho have caused the death of YHWH’S people."(Numbers 16:42) It came about, however, when thecongregation had assembled against Moses and Aaron, that they turned toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it and the glory of YHWH appeared.(Numbers 16:43) Then Moses and Aaron came to the

front of the tent of meeting, (Numbers 16:44) andYHWH spoke to Moses, saying, (Numbers 16:45) “Getaway from among this congregation, that I mayconsume them instantly." Then they fell on their faces.

A “leader” is not only humble but truly cares for the“sheep” and intercedes for the people! (Numbers 16:46) Moses said to Aaron, "Take yourcenser and put in it fire from the altar, and lay incenseon it; then bring it quickly to the congregation andmake atonement for them, for wrath has gone forthfrom YHWH, the plague has begun!"

Page 17: Rebellion or Relationship

(Numbers 16:47) Then Aaron took it as Moses hadspoken, and ran into the midst of the assembly, for

behold, the plague had begun among the people. So heput on the incense and made atonement for the people.(Numbers 16:48) He took his stand between the deadand the living, so that the plague was checked.(Numbers 16:49) But those who died by the plaguewere 14,700, besides those who died on account of Korah. (Numbers 16:50) Then Aaron returned toMoses at the doorway of the tent of meeting, for theplague had been checked.

Most of us are like sheep and properly named. We want a“leader” so we can just follow. We must remember wehave one head and mediator to our Elohim YHWH-Yahshua the Messiah! We must follow Him!

(1Samuel 11:14) Then Samuel said to the people,"Come and let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdomthere." (1Samuel 11:15) So all the people went toGilgal, and there they made Saul king before YHWH inGilgal. There they also offered sacrifices of peaceofferings before YHWH; and there Saul and all the menof Israel rejoiced greatly. (1Samuel 12:1) Then Samuelsaid to all Israel, "Behold, I have listened to your voicein all that you said to me and I have appointed a kingover you. (1Samuel 12:2) "Now, here is the kingwalking before you, but I am old and gray, and beholdmy sons are with you. And I have walked before youfrom my youth even to this day.

(1Samuel 12:3) "Here I am; bear witness against mebefore YHWH and His anointed. Whose ox have I

taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have Idefrauded? Whom have I oppressed, or from whosehand have I taken a bribe to blind my eyes with it? Iwill restore it to you." (1Samuel 12:4) They said, "Youhave not defrauded us or oppressed us or takenanything from any man's hand." (1Samuel 12:5) Hesaid to them, "YHWH is witness against you, and Hisanointed is witness this day that you have found nothingin my hand." And they said, " He is witness." (1Samuel12:6) Then Samuel said to the people, "It is YHWHwho appointed Moses and Aaron and who brought yourfathers up from the land of Egypt. (1Samuel 12:7) "Sonow, take your stand that I may plead with you beforeYHWH concerning all the righteous acts of YHWHwhich He did for you and your fathers.

(1Samuel 12:8) "When Jacob went into Egypt and yourfathers cried out to YHWH, then YHWH sent Mosesand Aaron who brought your fathers out of Egypt andsettled them in this place. (1Samuel 12:9) "But theyforgot YHWH their Elohim, so He sold them into thehand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and intothe hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the kingof Moab, and they fought against them. (1Sanuel 12:10) "They cried out to YHWH and said, 'We have sinnedbecause we have forsaken YHWH and have served theBaals and the Ashtaroth; but now deliver us from thehands of our enemies, and we will serve you.' (1Samuel

Page 19: Rebellion or Relationship

12:11) "Then YHWH sent Jerubbaal and Bedan andJephthah and Samuel, and delivered you from thehands of your enemies all around, so that you lived in

security. (1Samuel 12:12) "When you saw that Nahashthe king of the sons of Ammon came against you, yousaid to me, 'No, but a king shall reign over us,' althoughYHWH your Elohim was your king. (1Samuel 12:13) "Now therefore, here is the king whom you havechosen, whom you have asked for, and behold, YHWHhas set a king over you. (1Samuel 12:14) "If you willfear YHWH and serve Him, and listen to His voice andnot rebel against the command of YHWH, then bothyou and also the king who reigns over you will followYHWH your Elohim.

Rebellion- Stubbornness may cost everything! (1Samuel 12:15) "If you will not listen to the voice of

YHWH, but rebel against the command of YHWH, thenthe hand of YHWH will be against you, as it was againstyour fathers. (1Samuel 12:16) "Even now, take yourstand and see this great thing which YHWH will dobefore your eyes. (1Samuel 12:17) "Is it not the wheatharvest today? I will call to YHWH, that He may sendthunder and rain. Then you will know and see that yourwickedness is great which you have done in the sight of YHWH by asking for yourselves a king." (1Samuel12:18) So Samuel called to YHWH, and YHWH sentthunder and rain that day; and all the people greatlyfeared YHWH and Samuel. (1Samuel 12:19) Then allthe people said to Samuel, "Pray for your servants to

YHWH your Elohim, so that we may not die, for wehave added to all our sins this evil by asking forourselves a king." (1Samuel 12:20) Samuel said to the

people, "Do not fear. You have committed all this evil, yet do not turn aside from following YHWH, but serveYHWH with all your heart. (1Samuel 12:21) "Youmust not turn aside, for then you would go after futilethings which cannot profit or deliver, because they arefutile. (1Samuel 12:22) "For YHWH will not abandonHis people on account of His great name, becauseYHWH has been pleased to make you a people forHimself.

Blessings to you loved one! May YHWH bless, direct, provide and protect you and your loved ones in thesedays! May you each be made worthy to escape and endure and stand at His appearing unashamed! May weall learn to humble ourselves, receive His instructionsand do those that YHWH provide the blessings He desiresand promises us! Thanks for your prayers, love and intercession for us. You are the greatest brothers and

sisters on the planet!
