Purpose - City Resolution
• Eight members• Coordination and improvement of facilities• Liaison and advisor to City Council and Planning
Commission• Recommend a Gautier Master Plan for
Recreation and Open Spaces• Recommendations on recreational problems,
policies or programs• Programming Subcommittee to provide guidance
for programs and activities in the area of recreation

Purpose – House Bill 1722
• Two percent (2%) of the gross proceeds of the sales of restaurants and bars
• Two percent (2%) of the gross proceeds of the sales from room rentals
• Separate fund strictly to improve parks and recreational facilities
• August 27th Referendum• 60% of the qualified electors in favor to pass
Process• January 8 – Welcome, Purpose & Process• Stakeholder Meetings with Staff• January 29 – Initial Scoping of Needs• 1:1 Discussions with Staff• February 26 – Financing Improvements• March 12 – Community Input• March 26 – Recommend Plan• April 4 – Planning Commission• April 16 – City Council• June 4 – Straw Poll• August 27 - Referendum• Reconvene to discuss outcome and next steps
