Welcome to our second Female Auctionand sixth year of selling females Labor Day Weekend.Being part of our team is just that EXCITING! We love being part of a winning team as I am sure you do. Winning in our mind is much more than purple ribbons and pictures in front of the backdrop. Don’t get me wrong, we want to win as bad as anyone at the shows, but being part of our winning team is different for each of our customers.

*Ashlee Corns, Eureka, KS had her share of success this year with TFCC Brylor Isabella 24Y, including Reserve Futurity Heifer NA-JRAE winning $1000. Beyond that she raised the Champion Commercial heifer at NAJRAE 2012 with a Huckleberry daughter out of her Limousin Show Heifer she showed a few years back. *Rush Red Angus, Jasper, MO. Long time friends and partners who have been about as big of a Huckleberry fan as anyone. They sold RRSH Cold Stone half interest for $12,000 after he was division Champion at NWSS 2012. They have sold several Huckleberry offspring and their customers have been equally as pleased.*Abbey Ivey sold a flush on Lakina for $3,500 in Ft. Worth. Lakina had an incredibly successful show career including Champion Red Angus at the State Fair of Texas 2010; Lakina was purchased in Red Sunday 2009 for $2,025.*The Jason Locke Family, Stockton, MO purchased JKC Cash Advance (Huckleberry’s maternal brother) and the boys raised and exhibited several offspring at NAJRAE. Now they have saved some replacements that they are very pleased with.*5-L Livestock, Walton, KS Nathan purchased JKC Berry Princess 20W in 2009, raised 5-L The Duke who won Reserve Division at NAJRAE 2012. He also sold a flush out of her in Mulberry Mayhem for nearly the purchase price of her as a heifer calf.

I could share several more stories with you, but I only have so much room in the catalog.

The Lord has truly blessed us with great friends, customers, and cattle that make this business so much fun. Our goal is for you to find success on our winning team. Since we have had two years of less than ideal rain fall, it has made us evaluate what cattle are making the winning team a success. They must breed back and produce cattle that will work for you. Whether you have one heifer or 1000 cows we want your purchases to help you achieve your goals. We want you to get a bigger return on your investment in a shorter period of time. If there is a way we can help you do that – please let us know.

We are also a marketing representative for Brylor Semen Sales, please let us know how we can accommodate your semen needs.

We feel so blessed to be in such a strong beef market. There are a strong set of females available. Feel free to stop by anytime to look at the sale cattle and the herd!

Thank you for all your support and friendship.Kurt, Paula, ParkerJack and Karen, Jim

One of the good cows we purchased out of the Oates Land and Cattle dispersal has been a great producer for us. Her daughter sold as a bred heifer last year from Rush’s to Jeff Nattier for $4400. Her daughters and granddaughters, Lots 1, 3, and 4 truly show you what she is capable of producing and how valuable she can be in your herd. That is why we are selling choice of her and her Waves heifer calf, we cannot afford to lose both of them! She is bred back to Mak’n Waves. There is currently no frozen Waves semen in the US so here is your chance to obtain the great genetics.

Lot 1

We are only offering two Mak’n Waves daughters in the sale, so pay attention. Truly one of the pasture favorites this girl is a looker. Not only will she turn heads in the show ring, but if she turns out anything like her sisters or mom she will be your next donor.

This is a female Nathan Lanier purchased a few years ago in Red Sunday out of Lot 2 – P92. She is bred to JKC Fireman 29X. Fireman is a Huckleberry son who I think looks an awful lot like his dad and out of a Payload cow that is also the mother of Nathan’s good Mulberry cow JKC Berry Princess 20W that won several banners for him. This bred female is great in her lines with plenty of body and very structurally correct. The genetic mating of the expected calf is sure to be a winner.

A daughter to Lot 3 – Nathan can not part with both of these great females, so he is letting you choose which one to take home. She is also bred to Fireman. This female is extremely deep sided and long bodied; she stands down on a nice foot. I think Fireman will give the calf some extra muscle and look. Don’t miss out on a great bred heifer. Expected calf is sure to be a winner.

Being part of the winning team sometimes means you have to make personal sacrifices for the team to succeed. I think that is what we are do-ing here, by offering half interest in one of our best cows. Deuces was Reserve Division at NWSS 2007. She raised a $5000 New Trend heifer that sold to Wildcat Creek in 2010, and she calved again in November with a bull calf. She was with the bull 23 days after she calved, got bred she produced two calves in the same year. If only they were all that efficient. We flushed her after that and that is why she has a June heifer calf at side by Sequoia. We displayed this pair at the Beef Profit Alliance in Manhattan a few weeks ago. I cannot count the number of people who were impressed by how beautiful her udder is. The Simmental breeders were especially impressed by her muscle, moderate frame and sound-ness. I heard several times that is a great cow. She sells open and ready to flush. Deuces will remain in our possession, and we will assume all expenses when she is at our place. All flushing costs and expenses away from the ranch will be split 50/50 with the new partner.SELLING HALF INTEREST

Dolly is truly impressive all in her own right. If you are looking for a heifer to put you on the winning team for next show season, look no farther. We realize she is not the “ideal” age, since she is a June. However, when one is this good it doesn’t matter what her birthday is. She is slick fronted, deep bodied, and as wide as a train when you get behind her. Since she is so young, if you choose Dolly in this great pick lot she will remain on her mother at our house until after weaning.

Pictured at only 6 Weeks Old

Two full sisters out of the Feature Lot cow Deuces and the man himself, Mulberry. What more do I need to say? Well, for starters I think this mating hit it out of the park. If you look at these two heifers and are trying to decide which one you want on your team and you can’t decide I completely understand. One looks just like her momma – she has a nice look, moderate, and powerful. The other will remind you of all of those good Mulberry daughters you have seen; pretty fronted with tons of shape and feminity.

Selling Choice Lots 7 & 8

Page 8: Red Sunday 2012

Only one of two Waves calves being offered in the sale. She is the maternal sister to Isabella, Ashlee Corns Overall Reserve Champion Ring B at KS Beef Expo 2011, and Reserve Grand Champion Futurity Heifer at NAJRAE. Also maternal sister to our High Selling Heifer in the 2010 Mile High Sale in Denver that was purchased by Lakeview Cattle Company for $7500. Her other maternal sister Erika was purchased by Wildcat Creek in Red Sunday 2010. This show heifer

prospect has it all going for her, a great pedigree, super eye appeal, and plenty of muscle. She is a looker and is not missed by a single pasture visitor. Her dam is not only sired by Master Plan, but goes back to the great Canadian donor Empress 57 L. If her mother 101TB was not MAC, she would be in the donor pen for sure. Her mother’s udder is absolutely beautiful. She is sure to be part of the winning team next show season. MAC

This heifer is sexy! She has the clean front and pretty profile that you see in the Mulberry calves- this comes from her mama, but she holds the stoutness and bone that we see in Sequoia’s calves. This gal has two of my favorite cows in her pedigree, 70M and 8G. When you con-sider the maternal possibilities on those two ladies alone, you know she could be the starter in many line ups. She should be in your line up!

Hally Berry has produced her best calf yet! She is a great Mulberry daughter who goes back to the great Canadian donor Empress 57 L. Hally and Isabella’s mother (101TB) are maternal sisters. She was also Grand Champion Female Ozark Empire Fair 2008. This heifer calf has all the pieces and pedigree to be the start of your winning team. She has tons of muscle expression, rib, bone, and growth.

We purchased SuperChamp’s mother from 5-L last fall in Mulberry Mayhem. This SuperChamp bred female mated to Fireman has given us a heifer we sure aren’t disappointed in. Fireman is a ¾ brother to Nathan Lanier’s JKC Berry Princess 20W that tore up the show circuit in 2010. This heifer may look a little green in the picture, but that is because she is. She reminds me of many of the later maturing Huck-leberry and Mulberry females. She no doubt has a great front and is beautiful in her lines. She continues to fill and mature every day. Wait until you see her video a few weeks before the sale, or her on sale day. She will be one on your short list.

This is one of the prettiest profiling heifer calves in the sale. She is extra extended out of her front 1/3 and takes it all the way back into her hip.

This Huckleberry x Whistler heifer puts all the things you want together for a great replacement heifer and cow. Her mother is one of the easiest keeping females we own. This heifer has tons of body, rib, muscle, and bone.

I really like this Huckleberry daughter. She may not be a stand out in any one area, but she sure puts it all together. She is going to be a moderate frame, easy keeping female, with plenty of gas in her tank for whatever you want to do with her.

There is no doubt that the Huckleberry females are stout and have tons of muscle expression. This cute heifer lives up to the expectation. When you get in and study her you begin not only to appreciate her muscle shape and dimension, but also the bone and width of skeleton she puts into a nice femine package. Her mother is a Sakic x R 230 female that adds a different dimension to this babies pedigree.

Here is a dark cherry red heifer that is as long as a freight train. She is long fronted and ties into an extremely long spine. She is very deep sided and has tons of rib.

This heifer is a growing machine. She just keeps gaining and getting bigger and better every day. She is super slick fronted but has tons of rib and muscle dimension to go along with it.

This one is a big long bodied female that has tons of extension and growth.

This heifer is definitely the stoutest of the three Packer heifers. She has lots of body and rib and plenty of muscle dimension, plus she’s going to be a bit more moderate if that is what you are looking for.

The Huckleberry Vernice mating has been a homerun for us several times. Their full sister is our best looking first calf heifer in the pasture with a nice Crimson Jewel heifer calf at side. This cow family I am convinced could live in the dessert and still look like you have been feeding her every day. They are easy fleshing, moderate, big ribbed females that make you want to have a pasture full of them. When you look at these two fall heifers you wouldn’t think any different. The advantage they give is that they have enough look to make it to the show ring yet this fall and winter. Don’t miss this great pair of sisters, you might want to just take them both home. We also displayed two full brothers at the Beef Profit Alliance in Manhattan. The pair of bulls had several fans in the crowd. Vernice’s first Huckleberry daughter was sold to Mann Ranch in 2009 for $4000. They were so pleased with her, they partnered with us and put in all these Vernice eggs.

This heavy bone, wide based female has tons of muscle expression and is deep bodied.

She is the easiest fleshing most maternal appearing of the four. She is just like her mom in terms of gaining weight on dirt. She exhibits a great amount of body, rib, muscle, and bone.

This heifer might be the complete package. She is not extreme in any one attribute, but she puts it all together in a beautiful package.

This female is the most refined and femine of the four. She is clean fronted and ties her neck into her shoulder so nice. This heifer profiles beautifully.

We have sold and retained several of her maternal sisters and are so pleased. The maternal brothers have been great performers in test and in the pasture. This cow family is easy fleshing, very fertile, has tons of rib and body. They just spell C-O-W.

Page 14: Red Sunday 2012

This was my favorite fall born John Wayne last fall and I can tell you as she has developed I have not been disappointed. She is going to be a cow that is an easy keeper for sure. She has plenty of muscle shape, but what I like the most about her is the shape and dimension to her rib and how she maintains it in to her hip.

This is another very stout muscular John Wayne female. She may not be as clean fronted as 50Y, but she is a bigger outlined longer sided heifer that sure doesn’t give up anything in terms of power.

This girl is a bit hairy, but due to the heat we did not want to add any stress to her to bring her in to clip her. Once you get past the hair, there is a pretty good heifer here. She has all the pieces to make a great replacement. She isn’t the stoutest or the biggest, but she put all the right parts into a complete package.

Fall Born John Wayne Replacements-We are selling choice between two lots on all of these females. We want to offer you the best replacements, but we also want to keep some of them too. Our intention for the John Wayne calves was to produce cows for us, and that is exactly what he has done.

In this pair, 60Y; is definitely the more moderately framed female. She is a bit more refined in her features and smaller framed, but she doesn’t give up anything in terms of rib, style, and muscle.

Here is a female that is so correct in her lines and the way she is put to-gether. She is long fronted and ties in just about perfect to her shoulder, then she takes her extension back clear into her hip.

Here is a really nice profiling female from the side. I really like her lines and her depth of body. This female will do nothing but make you money when you put her in your pasture.

Here is another pretty John Wayne daughter. What I like about her compared to some of the other females is the angle to her shoulder. She is also a moderate frame female that still maintains plenty of rib. She is a full sister to Hunter Lanier’s fall heifer that has been many time Champion Red Angus and Division Champion Including NWSS 2012 Jr show and NAJRAE.

Here is a Real Deal bred heifer. She is moderate, slick fronted, and sure to put plenty of feminity into her offspring. She was pasture exposed to Big Rock until June 10, then Mak’n Waves after that.

Another good bred heifer from the 5-L crew in Walton. This heifer is sired by a full brother to lots 23-26 they purchased a few years ago from us. She is really correct in her lines and has lots of body and rib. She is bred to 5L The Duke 26Y registration # 1465996, that Nathan raised out of 20W and John Wayne, the bull was reserve in his division at NAJRAE 2012. This will make a great addition to your herd.

A pair of twin sister Huckleberry bred heifers pasture exposed to Mak’n Waves, re-ally I don’t need to give anymore details. If you are excited about the pedigree and future offspring in their bellies, you won’t be disappointed when you look at them.

They are very similar in pattern; clean fronted, deep body, with plenty of rib and bone. The calves they produce in the spring will probably more than pay for their moth-ers. Why are we letting them both go? Honestly, I’m not sure- all I can say is I want to be a team player.

Bred Heifers

Selling Choice Lots 41 & 42

Here is an easy keeping big stout female that is due to calve shortly after the sale. She was pasture bred to John Wayne. The same mating is tearing up the show road in Indiana right now. If you take a look at the John Wayne replace-ment heifers in the sale, you will want to buy this lot because of what she is about to produce for you.

This big bodied, heavy muscled girl will be ready to calve shortly after the sale. Don’t miss out on this two for one package that sure to be a winner. She is bred to John Wayne for a September calf.

This heifer calf impresses me more every day. She has all the right pieces to be the foundation of a winning team on the tan bark or in the pasture. She is a fast growing, stout made female that doesn’t give anything up in terms of rib and fleshing ability.

This is a great cow with an outcross pedigree. She is very functional correct in her lines and has a nice udder too. What will truly impress you about her is the calf that she has at her side. She was pasture exposed to Mak’n Waves until June 10 then Red Brylor Big Rock 209Y Reg # CAN 1647431 after that. We think the mating be-tween her and Waves could be a home run or maybe even a grand slam. Since we don’t have any semen in the US, here is a great opportunity to get a true outcross mating that is sure to be a winner.

Lot 45Five units of Mulberry 26P semen. I really don’t need to say anything about this except the last semen was sold last fall in Mulberry Mayhem and we partnered with 5-L Livestock to clear the ring. The top semen sold for $260/straw. It is not available on the open market, and unless you have some in your tank you probably cannot find anyone willing to sell it.
