Our chosen song

•Released: April 7th, 1998•Genre: Alternative/Pop rock•Duration: 4.48•Writer: Jon Rzeznik•Album: Dizzy up the girl•Featured as the soundtrack to the Hollywood film city of Angels starring Nicholas Cage•The song links with some of the plot ideas from City of Angels, the main focus is around the situation that the male protagonist finds himself in where he is so in love and so desperate for the females love that he would give up anything to be with her and he does not care about anybody else's views or opinions except hers.

The approach that we are taking to this narrative is the idea of a male who is desperately in love with a young girl but struggles to make his feelings known to her.

The narrative scenes will begin with him noticing and admiring her from a far and venting his frustration with himself at not displaying what he truly feels.

He then begins to talk to her and get to know her and subsequently love her even more but is constantly desiring her attention

The main key scene in the video revolves around a tragedy involving the female character.

The male protagonist discovers her in this situation and feels as if this is his final chance to tell her the truth about his feelings towards her.

This will have several powerful images of the male clutching on to her and refusing to let go because he is so desperate to prove this to her.

The song ends with him having to leave her in her state as she is treated or helped by others and he must subsequently leave the situation and simply regret his lack of decisiveness when required and is left thinking what might of been as he walks off on his own into the dark and misty environment that he is surrounded by.

Plot (narrative)

Our performance will involve either a 3 or 4 piece band with a lead singer, drummer, lead guitarist and possibly a base guitarist.

It will be filmed in a fairly large and spacious area, the ideas of this setting will be shown later on in this pitch.

During the performance the camera will track around the set filming all members and then close in on thee faces, instruments and figures of them.

The lead singer will be the same character who is playing as the main protagonist in the narrative scenes.

This allows us to portray the performing singer as an incredibly emotional character due to the fact he singing about a situation that he is heavily involved in an emotionally effects him.

The lighting of this performance is going to be rather dark with possibly spotlighted areas or characters.
