Church's website: www.facingthetruth.org.au Reflection: This week's Gospel reading relates a familiar story, so familiar that we can be tempted to not think about it too deeply. Doing so, it would be easy to miss some of the finer nuances of the story. Jesus began by looking to Heaven and saying a blessing, in a manner which strongly prefigures his institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper. And, even though the Disciples initially doubted, everyone ate and there was plenty left over, reminding us that God's love is abundant, even if we too doubt. It is also an invitation to us to be generous with those who do not share our good fortune. It's important to note that this is the only miracle of Jesus which appears in all four Gospels, so clearly all the Gospel writers felt it was an important story to tell. of Glen Eira Counselling Clinic. She and another colleague are offering Holy Trinity Parish grief
and trauma counselling support. They are both trained in trauma therapy and are more than
happy to support parishioners.

This weekend the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ
At all our masses this weekend in our three churches our 1st Eucharist
children will be presented to the Trinity Parish. Parishioners will be asked
to support a child as a Prayer Partner. You will asked to come forward,
collect a prayer candle to be used at home when you pray for your child.
After mass we will have a photo taken with you and your child.
Your child will write to you—please reply to his/her letter.
Student Profile for Eucharist Prayer Partners will be placed in the churches in the
week beginning 17th June.

FAMILY MASS: - Call to Eucharist
This weekend our Year 4 children and their families
will be joining us at our Masses.
As part of the Call to Eucharist ceremony
we will be asking parishioners to be
Prayer Partners for the children
preparing to make their first Communion.
If you are able to be a prayer partner, you will be
asked to come forward and collect a candle
from a child and to light this candle when you pray for
the child at home. We also ask that you stay for a
little while after Mass so that we can get your details
(so we can contact you and let you know when your
prayer partner is making their first communion, so you
know when to return the Candle and to which Mass)
and to have a photo taken w ith your prayer
partner.
WEEKDAY MASS — 25TH JUNE:
On Tuesday, 25th June at 10.00am the St. Paul’s
School children will be joining Parishioners for Mass
in St. Paul’s Church for their end of term Mass.
They will be celebrating the feast of
Sts. Peter and Paul.

THIS WEEK’S GOSPEL – Luke 9: 11-17
Jesus made the crowds welcome and talked to them about the kingdom of God; and he cured those who were in need of healing.
It was late afternoon when the Twelve came to him and said, ‘Send the people away, and they can go to the villages and farms round about to find lodging and food; for we are in a lonely place here.’ He replied, ‘Give them something to eat yourselves.’ But they said, ‘We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we are to go ourselves and buy food for all these people.’ For there were about five thousand men. But he said to his disciples, ‘Get them to sit down in parties of about fifty.’ They did so and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, raised his eyes to heaven, and said the blessing over them; then he broke them and handed them to his disciples to distribute among the crowd. They all ate as much as they wanted, and when the scraps remaining were collected they filled twelve baskets.
