THE AWARD-WINNING COMEDYBY RICHARD HARRIS

In a dusty church hall, ex-professional dancer Mavis Turner

holds her weekly tap class. Every Thursday, in stumbles her

well-intentioned but not overly talented troupe – the awkward

but hugely enthusiastic Lynne, snooty Vera, streetwise Maxine

and the rest of the group – all brought together to dance as

if no one is watching, and hopefully no-one ever will!

That’s until they’re invited to perform at a charity gala. As

disbelief is replaced by sheer terror, can this bunch of amateurs

pull together and put on the performance of a lifetime?

Starring Brian Capron, known to millions for his award-winning

portrayal of the sinister Richard Hillman in Coronation Street;

Jessie Wallace, who won the nation’s hearts as the vivacious

Kat Slater in EastEnders, and Olivier Award-nominated

West End star Rosemary Ashe, this hilariously funny and

heart-warming play proves that in dancing as in life,

it’s always better to follow your own tune.

BROADWAY’S HIT ROCK MUSICAL

Andrew Dunn and Shobna Gulati star in

Victoria Wood’s

Take one huge hit sitcom from BBC TV. Place on a stage in a

World Premiere national tour starring Andrew Dunn (Tony)

and Shobna Gulati (Anita) from the cast of the TV series.

Blend in Victoria Wood’s writing, undoubtedly some of the

funniest on television, and whip into a play based on the second

TV series, following the reluctant love story of Bren and Tony,

egged on by Dolly, Jean, Twinkle and Anita.

Mix in caretaker Stan’s words of wisdom and coat with regular

appearances by Phillippa from Human Resources and Petula,

Bren’s dreadful mother, and you have a recipe for madness,

mirth and twelve rounds of toast!

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THIS BROADWAY SMASH BURSTS ONTO THE REGENT STAGE

This amateur version is brought to you by NSOS

The Producers was a Broadway and West End sensation

winning every major Best New Musical Award including the

Laurence Olivier, Evening Standard and Critics Circle Awards

as well as the most Tony Awards in Broadway history; a

staggering 12 in total. Now NSOS brings their production

of Mel Brooks’ classic musical to The Regent Theatre.

When down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock

and his hapless accountant, Leo Bloom, hatch the ultimate

theatrical scam - to raise more money than they need to

produce a sure-fire Broadway disaster, and then pocket the

left-over cash when the show flops – who do they turn to?

The world’s worst director, of course; Roger DeBris. Their

guaranteed-to-fail fiasco? ‘Springtime for Hitler -The Musical’!

FORTHCOMING SHOWS

When it premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 1995, Matthew Bourne’s

triumphant modern re-interpretation of Swan Lake turned

tradition upside down, taking the dance world by storm.

Now firmly crowned as a modern day classic, this iconic

production is perhaps best-known for replacing the traditional

female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble.

Matthew Bourne blends dance, humour and spectacle with

extravagant, award-winning designs by Lez Brotherston, to

create a provocative and powerful Swan Lake for our times.

Collecting over 30 international theatre awards including

three Tonys, Swan Lake has been acclaimed as a landmark

achievement on the international stage. It has become the

longest running ballet in the West End and on Broadway

and enjoyed four hugely successful tours in the UK

and thrilled audiences all over the world.

Swan Lake is returning to Stoke-on-Trent for one week only!
