September 2016 – March 2017

I’ve been at the theatre now for three months (summer has flown by) and I’m really happy to be announcing some wonderful West End and touring shows, alongside some fabulous family programming, comedy and music events!I’m also excited to be piloting our Pay What You Can Scheme, to help those on low incomes to be able to afford to come to their local theatre. Full details can be found on page 33 or on our website.Later this year we will be introducing a regular new-look e-newsletter, so do make sure that you are signed up to it; we will be sending details about our own events and those with our friends at Trinity Theatre, The Forum and our wonderful Museum and Art Gallery to name but a few. Helping to keep us all in touch with the range of entertainment and leisure choices available across the borough!Another exciting project we are busy working on, is the ‘Selfies’ exhibition; originally created by the Museum and young people from across the Borough. The Assembly Hall Theatre will become its temporary home – so keep an ear to the ground for more information and the launch date!If you do have any feedback for us, regarding anything that the theatre does then please write to me at [email protected]

Myself and the team all look forward to personally welcoming you to your local theatre very soon.

The legendary, record-breaking, Box Office smash hit thriller returns!A classic. A landmark. A legend.

The Mousetrap is famous around the world for being the longest running show of any kind in the history of theatre, with over 26,000 performances in London and now the 60th anniversary production is here for the first time! The scene is set when a group of people gathered in a country house cut off by the snow discover, to their horror, that there is a murderer in their midst. Who can it be? One by one the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until at the last, nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive are finally revealed. In her own inimitable style, Dame Agatha Christie has created an atmosphere of shuddering suspense and a brilliantly intricate plot where murder lurks around every corner.

It’s 1985. Hair is huge, greed is good and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart (Jon Robyns, Avenue Q, Legally Blonde) is New Jersey's favourite wedding singer. When his own fiancée dumps him at the altar a seriously bummed out Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Can sweet natured Julia, (Cassie Compton, X Factor) and her best friend Holly (Roxanne Pallett, Emmerdale, Waterloo Road) lure Robbie out of the dumpster and back into the limelight? Or is he going to see her head off down the aisle with Wall Street bad boy Glenn (Ray Quinn, X Factor, Dancing On Ice)? Only Grandma Rosie (Ruth Madoc, Hi-De-Hi!, Little Britain) seems to be able to see that Robbie and Julia are the couple that are meant to be. Don’t miss your chance to join the party of the year – with a musical that promises to get you up dancing faster than your Dad at a wedding, packed with songs which capture all the fun and energy of the Adam Sandler smash hit film.
