Special PaediatricNEUROREHABILITATION

ADELI Medical Center is a paediatric neurorehabilitation center with highly intensive treatment programme for brain injured children, with an emphasis on cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury. ADELI Medical Center is an internationally acknowledged specialised facility with 50 beds and 150 people staff, located 100 miles away from Vienna. We are offering modern multidisciplinary approach in proprioceptive rehabilitation with unique elements originating from space and underwater neurology. Over 1,000 patients from entire Europe are treated at ADELI Medical Center each year.

Clinic for intensive neurological rehabilitation

The biggest benefit for every patient at the ADELI Medical Center is its highly intensive, customised therapy programme and the extensive care. Every patient is cared for up to 5 hours a day and six days a week by the responsible multidisciplinary team comprising of doctors, therapists, massage therapists, speech therapists and other specialists. Five to seven health professionals deal with each of our patients on a daily basis.

Special Treatment Programme

An individual rehabilitation objective is defined for each of our little patients. After the initial neurological examination, which takes place on the first day of the stay, the multidisciplinary team (doctors, therapists, speech therapists, nurses) is formed in order to define sustainable improvement potential in the condition of the child. The main objective of neurorehabilitation in children is to achieve a long-term and healthy physiological development as far as possible and to avoid or minimise (severe) disability, in order to enable the child to live a normal life in the future. We also strive to achieve non-dependence on family members.

Rehabilitation Objective

ADELI Medical Center is fully equipped with all known means of modern neurorehabilitation. Scientific achievements of neurologic research are well applied within the scope of the treatment programme, especially in activating the proprioceptive system. As one of the few institutes in Europe the Center specialises in paediatric neurorehabilitation. The stimulation of proprioceptive system – one of the most important components of motor function – is accompanied at ADELI by the use of medical devices that find their origin in space medicine. A department of hyperbaric oxygenation therapy complements the main facility.
