the good of what follows it and I take refuge inYou from the evil of this night and the evil ofwhat follows it. My Lord, I take refuge in Youfrom laziness and senility. My Lord, I takerefuge in You from torment in the Fire andpunishment in the grave.

likewise, one says in the morning:(ii)

We have reached the morning and at this verytime unto Allaah belongs all sovereignty

(i)

O Allaah, by your leave we have reached themorning and by Your leave we have reachedthe evening, by Your leave we live and die andunto You is our resurrection.

In the evening:

(ii)

O Allaah, by Your leave we have reached theevening and by Your leave we have reached themorning, by Your leave we live and die andunto You is our return.

Your angels, and all of Your creation to witnessthat You are Allaah, none has the right to be

worshipped except You, alone, without partnerand that Muhammad is Your Servant andMessenger. (four times in the morning andevening)

O Allaah, what blessing I or any of Yourcreation have risen upon, is from You alone,

without partner, so for You is all praise andunto You all thanks.

whoever says this in the morning has indeedoffered his days thanks and whoever saysthis in the evening has indeed offered hisnights thanks.

O Allaah, I take refuge with You from disbelief

and poverty, and I take refuge with You fromthe punishment of the grave. None has theright to be worshipped except You. (threetimes)

Allaah is Sufficient for me, none has the rightto be worshipped except Him, upon Him I relyand He is Lord of the exalted throne. (seventimes morning and evening)

O Allaah, I ask You for pardon and well beingin this life and the next. O Allaah, I ask You forpardon and well-being in my religious and

worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth.

O Allaah, veil my weaknesses and set at easemy dismay. O Allaah, preserve me from thefront and from behind and on my right and onmy left and from above, and I take refuge with

You lest I be swallowed up by the earth.

O Allaah, Knower of the unseen and the seen,Creator of he heavens and the Earth, Lord andSovereign of all things, I bear witness thatnone has the right to be worshipped except

You. I take refuge in You from the evil of mysoul and from the evil and shirk of the devil,and from committing wrong against my soulor bringing such upon another Muslim.

In the name of Allaah with those namenothing is harmed on earth nor in the heavensand He is The All-Seeing, The All-Knowing.(three times)

I am pleased with Allaah as a Lord, and

How perfect Allaah is and I praise Him by thenumber of His creation and His pleasure, and

by the weight of His throne, and the ink of Hiswords. (three times)

None has the right to be worshipped exceptAllaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongsall sovereignty and praise, and He is over allthings omnipotent. (one hundred times everyday)

We have reached the morning and at this verytime all sovereignty belongs to Allaah, Lord ofthe worlds. O Allaah, I as you for the good ofthis day, its triumphs and its guidance, and Itake refuge in You from the evil of this day andthe evil that follows it. (and likewise in theevening)

The Messenger of Allaah (S) said: Whoeversays in the morning:None has the right to be worshipped except

Allaah, alone, without partner, to Him belongsall sovereignty and praise and He is over allthings omnipotent.has indeed gained the reward of freeing aslave from the children of Ismaaeel, and ten

of his sins are wiped away and he is raisedten degrees, and he has found a safe retreat

from the devil until evening. Similarly, if hesays it at evening time, he will be protecteduntil the morning.

We rise upon thefitrah of Islaam, and theword of pure faith, and upon the religion ofour Prophet Muhammad and the religion ofour forefather Ibraheem, who was a Muslimand of true faith and was not of those whoassociate others with Allaah.

Abdullah Ibn Khubaib said: The Messenger of Allaah (S)said to me Recite! I replied O Messenger of Allaah,what shall I recite? he said Recite:[Al-Ikhlaas][Al-Falaq][An-Naas]in the evening and the morning three times for it willsuffice you of all else.
