Renewable and non-renewable energy

Renewable energyThey are the energy sources available in unlimited quantities there, so not exhausted as you are using. Sun, wind, falling water and biomass are examples of renewable energy.

1. HydropowerIt is produced by the water retained in reservoirs or swamps high (which has gravitational potential energy). If at one point dropped to a lower level, this energy is converted into kinetic energy and then into electricity in hydroelectric power.

2. Wind EnergyWind energy is the kinetic energy produced by the wind. It is transformed into electricity in devices called wind turbines (special windmills).

3. Solar Energy Solar energy is coming to Earth in the form of electromagnetic radiation (light, heat and ultraviolet rays mainly) from the Sun, which has been generated by a nuclear fusion process. The use of solar energy can be done in two ways: by high temperature thermal conversion (photothermal system) and photovoltaic conversion (PV system).

Non-renewable energyThe non-renewable energy sources are those that are so limited on the planet and whose consumption rate is greater than its regeneration.

1. CoalIt is a light substance, of black color, which comes from the fossilized remains of organic vegetables. The coal is used as fuel in industry, power plants and domestic heating.

2. OilIt is the product of the decomposition of the remains of microscopic living organisms that lived millions of years ago in oceans, lakes and river mouths. This is a less dense than water, liquid substance of dark, oily appearance and strong odor, comprising a mixture of hydrocarbons (chemical compounds that contain only carbon and hydrogen in their molecules).

3. Natural GasIt has a similar oil source and usually forming a layer or bag over the oil fields. It is composed primarily of methane (CH4). Natural gas is a good substitute for coal as fuel due to its portability and high calorific value because it is less polluting than other fossil fuels.
