Jewish name for Deuteronomy is“devarim”

Deuteronomy got its English name from the unfortunate
mistranslation of a phrase in 17:18
“write for himself on a scroll a copy of the law”
Comes from the Greek
“deuteros” meaning secondand
“nomos” meaning law
