State of Art:
Innovation is speculation not an observation dealing with real life scenarios by creating it
and taking action. IPR is the legal action protecting speculation towards innovation by up
surging the prosperity fostering invention and innovation. In modern technological
competitive environment, an IPR holder can comprehend the value from its intellectual assets
through provision of goods and services to customers by actualizing legal mechanisms alike
licensing by generating revenue and building strategic alliances for socio-economic and
technological development of the country. CIPAM cell to support Sensitizing and Creating IP
Awareness among various organizations is the best possible way to aware stakeholders.

Overall Outcome:
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India sponsored three Day Faculty Development Program on Innovation & IPR (Intellectual Property Right) for Engineering among Teaching Faculty has been organized by Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore from 27th -29th February, 2020 in association with KSCST and CIPAM The Workshop is aimed to generate awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the Engineering Sector, thereby furnishing requisite guidance and proficiency about an assortment of procedures of patent search and application filing. The Workshop is indeed a podium to foster pioneering minds amid participants and identification of protectable innovations.
Dr. K.M.Roopa, H.O.D., Department of Mathematics gave the welcome address in which she addressed the audience by stating that the Workshop is aimed to foster innovation and invention to the tee. Dr Aswath M U, Principal, Bangalore Institute of Technology expressed his delight for organizing such a pertinent Workshop that would be beneficial for all the stake holders and in the process ensure awareness attainment in the prospective instant. Mr. Muttukumaraswamy stated that the Government is focused on furnishing the platform for innovators to showcase their talent with practical application. Dr. Sarasija Padmanabhan addressed on Patent System in Electrical, Electronics and IT domain and the road ahead. Mr. Divyesh Pratap delivered his lecture on IP management in Corporate and allied nuances. Mr. M G. Kodandaram stressed upon the structure adopted in the Corporate World and its extensive significance.
Mr. B. Vivek Anand Sagar addressed the audience on the Overall idea on Patent, Copyright, Design, Licensing, GI and scope of these in engineering field.
Mr.H.Hemanth Kumar, Executive Sec, KSCST inaugurated the BIT-IP CELL and addressed about the Workshop is aimed to benefit the participants in all respect and a common platform to express the quality of innovation. Overall 78 participants attended the Workshop in which respective stake holders were present, inclusive of students and faculty members from various Departments of B.I.T.
Inauguration of IPR Cell at B.I.T
The Intellectual Property Right Cell of Bangalore Institute of Technology was inaugurated on 28th March, 2020 by the chief guest Mr.H.Hemanth Kumar, Executive Secretary, KSCST in presence of Dr. Aswath M.U, Principal, B.I.T, Dr. K.M.Roopa, IPR Cell Committee Head and Mr.Vivek Anand Sagar, Consultant & IP Attorney, KSCST. Dr.Vatsala welcomed all the dignitaries present and participants from various departments.
Dr.K.M.Roopa introduced KSCST-B.I.T IPR Cell. The purpose of KSCST-B.I.T IPR Cell is to provide an encouraging environment to the faculty, staff members and students for creation of intellectual property which will be the big asset for an individual and the institute. This cell will provide support and guidance to all the employees and students in protecting their inventions and creations indifferent forms of intellectual properties.
Dr.K.V.Vijayendra felicitated the chief guests. In his speech he welcomed the guest, emphasized the benefits of intellectual property rights and the importance of establishment of IPR Cell in our institute. He congratulated Dr.K.M.Roopa for efforts put in formation of IPR Cell in B.I.T.
