Oasis is a nonprofit / non-governmental organization, which will be run entirely on Zakat and donations. It is working for the health improvement of the underprivileged since its inception in 1994. Our mission is to achieve the target set for Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Pakistan. We aim to empower the impoverished to lead productive and dignified lives by providing comprehensive health support to all age groups, having emphasis on mother and child health. Achievement of its mission prompted Oasis to adopt a holistic approach to the various essential needs of society. Despite education and health care, the financial constraint faced by these communities causes them to fall into the poverty trap, continuing the vicious cycle. Therefore, Oasis as its priority provides micro-financing Insurance facilities to promote sustainable healthcare. Oasis is working in many sectors including health, education, micro-Insurance and overall livelihood of the poor and needy, especially for their health needs. Our network includes 3 free clinics, all based in urban areas of Lahore, Pakistan. The four objectives of Oasis are:-
1. Establishing of specialized/standardized clinics2. Health Education3. School Health program4. Technology in PHC (e.g. Tele-medicine)
Our health model proposal ensures reduction of household income expenditure on healthcare costs. Our community health model will expand healthcare access to network of private hospitals and quality controlled non-profit partners across Punjab. So there will be same Healthcare facilities for all by the year 2015.
