Teaching and learning ideas: Write your own definition of empathy. Discuss with a classmate why empathy is important, and an occasion when you felt empathy or wish someone had shown you empathy. Did you find any differences of opinion about what empathy looks, sounds and feels like? Why might these differences exist?
