Dear Parishioners of Santa Cruz, It is a great joy to begin with you this week-end as the new administrator of Santa Cruz Catholic Church and School. Please intro-duce yourself to me after the Masses or whenever the opportunity arises. For those who are not able to attend Mass, feel wel-come to email or call the office to say hello. I look forward to getting to know you! I also want to stress, as a reminder, that face masks are required to enter the church. This is to assist in creating a safe environment, especially for those who are vulnerable. The gospel call us to be inconvenienced out of love for our neighbor. In the same way, our adherence to face masks, sanitization, and physical distancing is an inconvenience we carry out in charity. Thank you. As the psalmist says, “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Let us pray together for God’s grace to lead us forward with great hope in what He can do through us. My name is Erik Diaz and I am the new Director of Religious Education of San-ta Cruz Catholic Church. I'm excited to be on this journey with you and to min-ister here at Santa Cruz. Thank you for the warm welcome that I have received so far. Let us also give thanks to Ed-ward Blatz the previous Director for all that he did for the parish. Edward will
stay on part-time as my Associate for July and August to assist with the transition. I was born in Bastrop, Texas. I grew up in a family with two brothers and three sisters. I have another brother that has gone to eternal rest. I'm a certified youth minis-ter and have a master certificate in catechetical leader-ship both from the Diocese of Austin. I will finish my di-rector of religious education certification next summer. I have worked at San Jose parish, Santa Cruz parish, and Del Valle Middle School. I'm married to Margaret and we will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary in July. We have 2 sons and 3 grand-babies with one more on the way in December. _____________________________________________

Clerical Endowment Fund Mass Cards may be purchased in the church office. The CEF was established by the Austin
Diocesan Council of Catholic Women to raise money for the education of diocesan seminarians. Masses and prayers are offered for the person enrolled and also for those enrolling. Sug-
gested donations for these cards are $2.00 and $5.00 for one year enrollment. Also available are perpetual enrollments: for an individual $25.00, for a family $50.00 for an organization $100.
