Rev. Mark Becker Rev. Mark Becker became the sixth president of the Florida United Methodist Foundation in March 2015, after serving on the foundation’s board for seven years, including two as chairperson. Before joining the staff, he served in local church appointments for 14 years, most recently as senior pastor at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tallahassee. He was ordained an elder in full connection in the Florida Conference in 2004. Prior to his call to ministry, Becker served as a nuclear trained officer on a nuclear submarine and a financial analyst with IBM. He has a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy, an MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and a Master of Divinity from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Scott Bowne Scott Bowne is a broker and chief financial officer at Compass Mortgage LLC, a Lakeland-owned and -operated company that provides residential mortgages and refinancing. He’s been with the company for more than 13 years. Bowne earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Florida in Gainesville. James Clemensen CFP® James Clemensen CFP® is a certified financial planner certificant at Beil Fisette Lacono LLP in Dallas, Texas. Previously, he was a wealth advisor with CliftonLarsonAllen and a financial advisor with Boekermann Graftstrom & Mayer LLC and DS&B Ltd. Clemensen has more than 11 years of experience as a financial advisor and is author of “File and Suspend: Maximize Social Security With Spousal Benefits” and “Retirement, Baseball and the Real Future of Social Security.” Clemensen is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Duluth. Bob Christophel Bob Christophel is manager of benefits education at Wespath Benefits and Investments, an agency of The United Methodist Church. He oversees a team that provides financial, retirement and other benefits education services for United Methodist clergy and lay employees. Prior to joining Wespath in 2014, Christophel worked for 12 years at the Cultural Institutions Retirement System in New York City, a not-for-profit, multi-employer pension and 401(k) system, providing benefit communications and participant education for employees of New York City museums, botanical gardens, zoos and performing arts centers. Dreyfus Corporation, where he was a licensed investment representative in a corporate retirement services division focused primarily on education for national corporate 401(k) plans.

John Clarkson John Clarkson has 26 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently as an agent with Allstate Insurance Company since 2004. He has received Allstate’s Honor Ring award for high standards in customer satisfaction, customer retention and profitability and the company’s Circle of Champions award, which is given to only five percent of the 10,000 Allstate agencies in the country for meeting the highest standards of performance and growth. Clarkson earned a Bachelor’s of Science from Florida’s Jacksonville University.

Todd Creviston Todd Creviston is manager of health promotion at Wespath Benefits and Investments, an agency of The United Methodist Church. With more than 30 years of experience in clinical, corporate and research settings within the health and well-being industry, Creviston has managed multiple corporate fitness centers, served as a lifestyle coach at the Diabetes Prevention Program and was a project coordinator with the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability. He has degrees in exercise physiology from Illinois State University in Normal and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and is certificated through the American

College of Sports Medicine and National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also has a certificate in public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Lois Durham Lois Durham is the human resources administrator for the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. She joined the conference team in 2006 and has more than 28 years of experience in the human resources field. Durham earned an associate’s degree in business administration and management from Polk State College.

Pam Hicks Pam Hicks became the Florida United Methodist Foundation’s vice president of finance and administration in 2015, after serving as its treasurer for 16 years. A certified public accountant and former high school teacher, Hicks served for six years as chief financial officer at Peace River Center, a local community mental health center, before joining the foundation staff, and spent 12 years in public accounting, working on income tax returns and audits for local governments and not-for-profit corporations. Hicks has also served as treasurer and board member for United Way of Lakeland and Habitat for Humanity and on several committees at her church, First United Methodist Church in

Lakeland. In 2018, she was awarded the Not-for-Profit Certificate II from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

John Lancaster John Lancaster joined the firm of Clark, Campbell, Lancaster & Munson P.A., in 1998, where he represents individuals, corporations and estates before the IRS in tax-related matters. He also provides income, estate and gift tax planning and works on mergers and acquisitions of businesses. Prior to joining the firm, Lancaster worked as a special assistant U.S attorney and senior attorney for the IRS, District Counsel, representing the agency before the U.S. Tax and Bankruptcy courts. He also provided legal advice to IRS revenue agents and officers in

their examination and collection of income, estate and gift taxes. Lancaster earned a bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating cum laude. He earned his master’s of law in taxation at the University of Florida. Lancaster is admitted to practice law in Tennessee and Florida and is board certified by the Florida Bar in tax law. He has also contributed to four chapters of “Florida Small Business Practice,” sixth edition, a book by the Florida Bar.

Rev. John Peterson CFP®, CASL® Rev. John Peterson CFP®, CASL® re-joined the Florida United Methodist Foundation staff in July 2016 as vice president of stewardship and education and regional stewardship consultant for the Florida Conference’s Gulf Central and North West districts. After his ordination in 1992 as an elder in full connection in the Florida Conference, Peterson served several churches in Florida and in 1997 became vice president of planned giving at the foundation. He left that position in 2014 to become president at the United Methodist Foundation of the Northern Illinois Conference. In addition to an associate’s degree in aerospace technology, Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree in

education from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is a certified financial planner and holds the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living designation.

Russ Rhoads Russ Rhoads has been a Lakeland realtor for 19 years. Prior to his real estate career, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, and was a Lakeland business owner for 16 years. From that business experience, he learned the importance of attracting the best companies to Lakeland, helping them attract the best employees and helping those new to Polk County find their dream homes. Rev. Sandra E. Santiago Rev. Sandra E. Santiago has served as the Florida United Methodist Foundation’s regional stewardship consultant for the Florida Conference’s Atlantic Central, South East and South West districts since August 2015. Previously, she served the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico as an ordained pastor, director of the camps and retreats commission, program coordinator for the office of youth affairs and finance committee facilitator. Prior to her work with the church, Santiago worked as a Medicare provider enrollment supervisor and budget official with the Triple-S Management Corporation,

an insurance holding company based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. Santiago earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Catholic University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Theology from the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico.

Ronald Theodore Ronald Theodore has been a benefits educator at Wespath Benefits and Investments, an agency of The United Methodist Church, since 2010. He provide retirement and other benefits education for clergy and lay employees. Previously, he served on the retirement team, providing benefit communications and participant education for current-year retirees and retired participants. Theodore has also served as a consultation specialist for Wespath’s Clergy Benefit Academy and a customer service call center team member.

Tom Wilkinson Tom Wilkinson joined the Florida United Methodist Foundation staff in 2001 and is vice president of church relations and new business. He is also regional stewardship consultant for the Florida Conference’s East Central, North Central and North East districts. Previously, he was director of planned giving for the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and spent 13 years at Union Bank of Switzerland and predecessor organizations in a variety of management positions. Wilkinson is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a member at Peace United Methodist Church in Orlando.
