From Pastor Joyce
There is an inspirational song by Avery and Marsh called
“Every Morning Is Easter Morning”. It captures the truth
that Christians are an Easter People. We are a new
creation and meet each new day in the power of our
Living Lord, Jesus Christ. Resurrection is more than an
event in the long ago and the far away; it becomes a
present experience in the heart of the believer that
transforms all of life.
You can almost feel the joy and the throb of new life as you read the words:
Ev’ry morning is Easter morning from now on!
Ev’ry day’s resurrection day, the past is over and gone!
Goodbye guilt, goodbye fear, good riddance!
Hello Lord, hello sun!
I am one of the Easter People! My new life has begun!
Daily news is so bad, it seems the Good News seldom gets heard.
Get it straight from the Easter People: God’s in charge! Spread the word!
Ev’ry morning is Easter morning from now on!
Yesterday I was bored and lonely; but today look and see!
I belong to the Easter People! Life’s exciting to me!

We had so much fun last time – we’re doing it again! 12 volunteers
needed this time.
Hands On Mission Opportunity: Pack Meals at FMSC
Mark your calendar for Saturday June 3 from 2-4 pm at the Coon Rapids
location. We have agreed to send 12 volunteers to work to pack meals
for starving children around the world. There are jobs that allow you to
sit down for the entire packing session. Signup sheet on the table in the Gathering Space.
High Tea - Wednesday May 3rd, 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Milaca UMC is the place to be for a delicious afternoon tea.
A tempting and tasty variety of sweet and savory
treats will be served. A freewill offering will be received to benefit local
charitable groups. Sponsored by the United Methodist Women .

Walleye Dinner Saturday April 22 seating times 5:00 & 6:30 pm
Meal includes: walleye, baked potato or rice pilaf, side salad or Korean seafood salad, beverage,
and dessert. A $12.00 donation benefits the church and community groups.
Church members are encouraged to buy tickets for the 6:30 seating session.

interests for all ages and even families! Employment for
those 18+ is also available through our camping program

2017 VBS – Hero Central
June 26th – 30th, 1-4 pm
Hero Central VBS has everything you need to help your
kids discover their strength in God and realize that they
are God's heroes!
Sessions include:
Session 1 - Samuel Anoints David (1 Samuel 16:1-12)
Session 2 - Abigail Saves the Day (1 Samuel 25)
Session 3 - Jesus Goes to the Temple (Luke 2:41-52)
Session 4 - Beatitudes (Matthew 4:23-5:12)
Session 5 - Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41)

Spring has arrived—sort of, except today is pretty cool.
I would like to thank the people that signed up to serve coffee at Elim this month. They are Jim and Laurel,
Jeanette, Tillie, Joyce S, Betty A and myself. Thank you!
Tuesday, March 14th we served the Christian Women and there was a large group of 68 ladies that attended .
We had just enough food, as there were more that came than they thought. There were a lot of apologies from them, but it
all worked out.
Thursday, March 16th our UMW met at 1:00pm after we had lunch at the Dining Site. Laurie Gahm was our guest speaker
on their trip to Guatemala where they do medical services. It was very interesting to see what all they do. Dr. Schult out of
St Cloud is where they leave from, and there were 144 of them that went. They go every year in March for 11 days. They
are there now. We gave a $100 donation to them from our Mission Fund. We also are giving $200 to the Food Shelf and all
the proceeds from the Lenten Soup Luncheon will also go to them.. It was our churches turn to serve the 29th of March
and we served wild rice soup, open face sandwiches and dessert.
Three of us ladies cleaned the freezer and the refrigerator on Monday afternoon. Please date your items when you
put it in the freezer, or take all left overs home. Thank you!
Paul Ash donates hamburger to the church and it is for all groups to use. Be sure to hold door in tightly on freezer
to make sure it locks tight and when you are unlocking it. Dale checked it and said that is the way it works best, or else it
leaks and defrosts. Thanks!
The Circles meet in April and May. Our next UMW meeting will be at Sue’s for our annual pot luck lunch. The
High Tea Committee will be meeting the first part of April to plan the High Tea which will be Wednesday, May 3rd
from 3-5:00pm.
Our Big Waters Spring Gathering is April 22nd in Forest Lake. When I get the registration and information it will
be posted.
Graduation Sunday is May 21st and we have two graduates.
